The photos (rusty piece with the light shining on it) are the brace at the bottom between the grill and the radiator off of a 1969 Dodge Charger. Is this part also needed on a 1968 Dodge Charger? If so, what is the part called? Thanks! IMG_3227 (002).jpgIMG_3228 (002).jpg

It is a bumper cross brace. No reason not to use it.

From the parts manual. Called a bumper support bracket.

If you don't have bumper guards, you probably don't need it. I think the bumper guards bolt to it.

If you don't install the guards, you have two holes in the front of the bumper that need to be filled.

my bumpers have the guards removed and the holes filled with regular bumper bolts. did that way back when i first got my car in 1970.
just this spring, i removed that crossmember type piece just because.
