I'm pretty sure they help hold the bottom corners of the windshield trim in place somehow.

Windshield corner trim. On all 66-70 B bodies.

The rounded end slips into the end of the lower windshield chrome. They wrap around the bottom of the A pillar and get screws into the inside of the door jamb.
