Well,
This project is getting much, much closer to done - taken a long time, but once I get this motor fired and tuned, then the dash can go on, can put in the front and rear windows... and...well, downhill from there. But that's the problem - I am having a hell of a time firing this 6.1 Hemi (that's been stroked and bored to a 6.4). Can anyone help me with this issue? I'll top line it, then go into detail:
Top line: I (am 99%) sure I need a Holley Terminator X tune for a 32 -2 / +2 reluctor wheel timing strategy for a Gen III Hemi 6.1....do you know where I can get one / have one on hand?
Longer Version:
Motor Details
* 2006, 6.1 hemi
* stroked and bored to 6.4 (392ci) by BES Racing
* never fired
* Current sensors: Late model crankshaft, early model cam shaft (late model cam shaft sensor on hand, also early model crankshaft sensor on hand)
* Drive by wire
* Early Hemi reluctor wheel (32 -2 / +2)
* OEM fuel injectors
* No forced induction (NO turbo/supercharger, etc.)
Have verified, multiple times, that I have the right pins / wiring running to the right places on the sensors.
Current Holley Program : Running a 36-2 ignition strategy (all that's available in the Holley unit and their downloadable set up program) with all other facts incorporated from above.
When I go to fire the motor, the Holley handheld unit, on RPM, reads Sync/Stall....and it doesn't fire. The lights on the side indicate that the crankshaft sensor is NOT happy. I am fairly sure this is because the crankshaft sensor is expecting to see 34 teeth on the reluctor wheel (with the 36-2 timing strategy), but then only sees 30.
Has anyone else had this problem? I'd call Holley, but they're not open today or tomorrow and MAN I want to fire this motor!! I am hoping and praying someone has a solution to this...little bit of an unusual set up.
Thank you all!
