What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Well, I worked on the spouses Honda. Why? Because Jiffy Lube forgot to bolt the belly pan back on all the way and it fell off and was dragging under the car. Thankfully no other damage was done as she was wise enough to stop and call me.

i put new tyres on my bike. And visited my boat, getting it ready to haul out. In between I am taking a three day break for my BD.

Working with my replacement, only 12 more working days until I retire. From here on out I’m visiting customers, doing my farewell tour…
 
Went to the urgent care clinic with an ear infection.

YAY!
 
...and scheduled the go ahead meeting to get my roof replaced.

Leak started last week.

'bout 12 years old.

Going with 1.25" standing seam.

It's double what a shingle roof costs, but hopefully will be the last roof I put on this house.

Also hope the insurance goes down...and I don't mean "here's your $100 discount" down.
 
Started raining (hey it's FL and it's summer), so decided to mitigate the potential damage of the leak.

It's directly above a truss, and runs down the 2x4, down a brace, then around the bottom 2x4.

Absolutely no place to put a bucket to catch it. Zero.

So I wrapped as best I could- it's in an area 12 feet from an area to stand, that's about 16 inches from the ceiling drywall to the roof plywood- a large towel around the (about 10") diagonal truss support.

That's about all I can think to do. It should hopefully to be at least partially intercept the water either on the truss brace or at the base of the lower truss 2x4.

Fingers crossed. So far it's only staining the drywall, but it would suck to have it come through the day before I get a new roof.
 
Started flooring the rental apartment with LVP.

I hate flooring. It's too goddamned far away. I'm 6'4", and my back and legs are killing me (in addition to the hole I put in my left knee).

But, the place looks a million times better with a finished floor!
 
Right there in the picture. Old dock was just missing a chunk of DOW foam and I happen to have a 6' piece, as well as several other pieces I have collected out of the lake the past 20 years.

I spent an extra day on the mainland wasting time. But I did do a search for lowering links for my Triumph motorcycle.
And I sent a msg to my local gold club, to tell them the beer they serve, is awful.
