Would like to buy a repo 69 GTX trunk panel. AMD lists them but they seem to be OER. Is that correct? Does anyone else make them? What is the quality?

Other problem looks like the OER are not available. Jegs shows 12/31/25 delivery and most others show out of stock. Summit just says not available. Classic says out of stock.

Suggestions?

Laysons also shows them but does not say if in stock or not.

Metro is the one who used to make them ( he sold his inventory / tooling out years ago)

IMO no one will have one in stock

If you are willing to pay top dollar, Kruisin Moons in Johnstown, PA may still have some unsold stock. They got out of restoring the OEM cores when Metro cut their prices by half. My GTX was owned by one of the partners for 28 years, and wears pieces that they restored. Can't tell them from NOS, and they were priced accordingly.

Adam, Got any closeup pics of the panel on your car , especially the 2 raised ribs that surround the red painted valley
or dead center where the GTX emblem is attached

I've yet to see any redone panels that got that area right . OEM said ribs were quite tall compared to either redone or Metros repops

Bill, I'll snap some for you later today. I had one of the Metro pieces on GTX number five, and the panel fit to the trunk lid was off as well. I'll dig out the 5000 mile original that came off the car for a comparison. I'm guessing the ribs got ground down because of pits on redone examples.

Thats another thing. These panels are not flat. There is a prominent angle in them at dead center from side to side

Most of the redone panels Ive seen it flattens the panel out. Thus, when u bolt one side on. the other side sticks up quite a bit Depending on the severity, it could crack when you try to bolt it down

It's been far too long I've needed one but back when I messed with these cars. I went thru about a half dozen or more NOS and/or dead mint used panels

Best was one year at the Mopar Nats ( late 90s timeframe ) I bought two dead mint used and one NOS panel same year ( expensive year )
Sold the one the NOS one the same day I got back home with it doubled my money on it and it paid for all 3

At the time I owned these 2 , so I was always looking for GTX specific parts

Here’s the 5000 mile original that was removed from the car, and the Krusin Moons restored piece that replaced it, mounted on the car. Configuration was identical. The original has slightly more sparkle in the argent paint, hard to tell unless it's side by side with the restored piece. I'm assuming the partners put the best examples on their personal vehicles. Frank owned my car for 28 years, Denny has owned his since 1971.
