Enclosed is a picture of the wire. It seems to be a ground and it is in the harness that contains the wires for the windshield wiper switch. I don’t see anywhere on the switch that looks like a tab broke off, but who knows?!

Washer function is part of the switch so part of the plug/harness on 72 and lates no matter if 2 or 3 speeds. I think 71s with 2 speeds wipers could still get “manual” (foot pedal) washer? Can’t recall. But still, if electric pump, would be into the wiper plug, not divorced like 2nd gens.

Thick black wire with white trace around there? Damn! At this moment I don’t recall anything like that! Just blower for A/C-Heater, however that wire normally is not with a separated insulation/plug, but inserted into the control switch plug if A/C or into the blower speed switch plug if Heater

The only 2 black wires with white trace arriving around there are for Heater/AC blower (14 gauge) or Headlights switch (12 gauge)

Heater/AC wire gets power with key in RUN or ACC

Headlights switch wire is constant.

But no one of them are with a separated plug/insulator.

Is some of these plugs melted and maybe installed divorced from the existant switch plug?

A/C control unit should get brown, tan, blue, light green and the mentioned black traced white.

I was so focused on the wiper switch I didn't even look at the heater control! I'll get a chance to have a look maybe later today. Thanks a ton Nacho-RT74 for the help.

Nacho mentioned it, C1-14BK*, keyed power supply for the blower motor or A/C control. Non-A/C, would plug directly into the blower switch terminal 4. With A/C, would plug into the under dash supplemental A/C wiring harness supplying power to the A/C control switch, blower and compressor.
