Can someone direct me to a source for the material installed between the fenders and frame along the surfaces where the fender bolts and u bolts attach the two.
It looked like a black spongy tar/felt material when I took it apart after 50 years of protection. If there is no source for the original material are there any good suggestions
for a substitute. Would prefer to not use something like a Home Depot building material. Thanks gentlemen

I have some 1/8 inch butyl rubber material that I could cut and make a gasket but that might be too thick and cause misalignment.

Thanks for the responses. mopar4don, it could have been something like that, however it was too uniform/straight across the top and had a consistency that seemed to have a strand of fiber like a fabric or rolled material. pnora, I have that product. Do you just string multiple strands of that because mine is pretty narrow, like rope. Thanks again guys

Thats all I do. Once things are bolted together is squeezes out and fills the voids.
