Took the Plunge EV

I would like to drive one. Most likely will not buy a different car, not because I am against electric cars but at my age, I see what I currently own lasting me until I die. My buddy bought a Tesla Plaid and another buddy has a Demon, I have driven both cars both are awesome from a performance point of view. I have made a living from the internal combustion engine all my life, still build a few. but the writing is on the wall. Just like horses, there will always be some muscle cars on the road but kicking and screaming the change is underway. At least Chrysler put some decent sheet metal on their electric car. I am so tired of seeing all the easter eggs going down the roads, you can't even tell what it is without looking at the name plate.
This is not personal, I disagree with the statement 'the writing is on the wall', no, it's not. I have seen this from the inside of a vehicle manufacturing corporation, the demand for electric, hydrogen, etc is minimal. I would be out of a job if kamala had gotten elected and the EV mandate had not been torn up. It's a stupid idea, and IC vehicles are superior in their versatility, and more importantly, cost.
Again, no disrespect intended. I don't like hearing that fraze for obvious reasons, as it will bankrupt all the american brands. Jmho. I believe you will see a slowing trend on EV sales, an increawe in hybrid sales, and Ram will be #1 if Tim gets all he's asking for.

Who saved the horses from the car. You can still buy and ride a horse. Candles versus light bulbs. We had a fit when foreign cars hit our shores, screaming the world was about to end. I caught a guy at work running down the side of my NEW D50 with a nail. He died basically unemployable. Remember unleaded only cars, the killer of all cars. We only care because we love the smell of gas. In my neighborhood there is about one of everything out there, including 4 or 5 classics. Toys for big boys is not going away. You'll be dust in the wind before all the gas cars are gone or you get all of yours done. Remember those foreign manufacturers, one owns us. Keep building and smile!!
I ain't riding no horse,or driving an electric car! Especially one with fake exhaust sounds. Watch when Harry met Sally and listen to her fake orgasm!

If i remember right, everyone wanted what she was having. LOL. I get your point.

The American car companies are trying to blame tariffs for their massive losses, when the truth is their EV sales are 100 percent responsible for their losses. They are giving them away for pennies on the dollar, and nobody wants them. The people who did want them already bought Tesla's.

So a 25% tariff on a RAM gas powered truck or van hasn't affected sales at all? They're still sailing off the dealer's lots?

They could lower the price 25 percent and sell them easily, they have been gouging the American buyers since the pandemic. Or just build them here.

I like seeing the impressions coming from someone who normally has our kind of cars without the noise of the political/environmental etc BS. I look forward to other updates.

Went to an event yesterday, several hundred cars there, a wide variety.
A lot of pictures taken of the Charger, Not one person I talked to had ever seen one.
Most had to ask what it was "there are no markings anywhere that call out CHARGER. Everybody said they loved the look and styling. Couple diehard No EV for me.....until I started it for them and they heard the exhaust sound. It drew a lot of attention every time I started it. Several asked to see the power port under the what looks like a fuel filler flip cover. Anyhow, first time I had it on a major highway.
It really want's to go. Up to 80 in a split second. a time or two, guys tried to out maneuver me and I just blew them away. There will be another one in our garage in two years, when we sell or trade my wife's 2025 KIA Seltose. We will be looking at the SUV options then or even sooner. No more gas stations, oil changes and no more (she hates} exhaust fumes. I do still have my gas powered classics though.
Till the next time out, ttyl

So are you blaming the car companies or the government. Do you have any idea what it cost these companies to shift from one technology to the other and back again, billions upon billions. They'd rather not be bothered and keep things going the way they were. You need to speak with your local state representative about this, not Chrysler. Do you really think it's the car manufacture that needs to fix the infrastructure so people buy into this cart before the horse government boondoggle. It's not that I want an EV over gas, I own a 2019 Durango, why, I don't need the powers to be giving me anymore help driving a car or dealing with all the extra crap I don't want or more crap to go wrong. It's not about the money for me, I don't like being led around by the nose by people that are directionally challenged, and that ain't your local car dealer.

Wrong answer. If all the cars people wanted that you built were red and the government tells you they should all be white by next week, who do you really think should pay for the changes, not you, right. You're going to pass that on to me. I'm not interested in that thought process. There's the problem. Call your State representative, not Chrysler........................ What are you giving away today, a 2000 dollar front grill...... This isn't about you and me, We're in this together, don't forget that. My family was making 45,000 a month flipping houses, is that fair................ It's always about the money.
