I bought the 26" radiator from ACC. Mine didn't come with a plastic plug nor a petcock for the drain. ACC told me on the phone he doesn't know the thread size. He guessed about M12 after I told him a 1/4 NPT doesn't fit.

The correct thread size is metric M12 x 1.25. Here's the part number for the plastic drain petcock and the transmission cooler line fittings.

They're Made In China. But the quality is top notch, fitment, tanks, finishes, and beautiful welds. Especially, compared to the Griffin I just returned.

Sadly, the drain hole is directly in line with the passenger side strut rod and the petcock interferes with the threads preventing the radiator from dropping in all the way.

I bought this one at a O'Reilly's. The top still needed to be trimmed to fit. It doesn't leak.

I don't know.... all these issues with a supposedly direct fit part.... shroud mounting issues, now hunting for a petcock valve ?
PFSad when the supplier doesn't know their own product...

Or suppy a petcock.

... and it doesn't fit ?

The shroud on the ACC radiator fits very well. The radiator fits the car very well. I spoke to the company about the missing plastic drain plug and they have one on the way.

I have had the plastic petcock in my chineaseum aluminum radiator for a few years, no issues.

Years ago a friend had a plastic petcock in a factory radiator and it melted out and all the fluid drained out.

I imagine it got pretty hot, but the engine was fine, so who knows.

I wonder what the max temp is on those.

The industry has been using inexpensive plastic drain plugs or petcocks since the 1980s. The one pictured is for a 88 Dodge Colt.
