DOGS

Cutting his treats in half. I hide them in his kennel so he has something to look for during the day.

This dog loves this kid. He knows that Cam will throw the frisbee so he listens to his commands, even when I am sitting there.

Ok guys as most who probably visit this thread know we lost our furry daughter Panda back in July. We miss having her so much. We are looking for another Blue Heeler as our lives are not the same when we open the door, travel, work on certain jobs, go boating or camping or just eat outside. Heck I am balling as I type this. So if anyone knows someone with a blue ACD female puppy no docked tail with in 6 hour drive from Philadelphia or Carlisle PLEASE send me a pm. I don’t think this is against the rules as this is a pup wanted post not a parts one. Thank you.

I feel for you, it's so so hard losing a fur baby

good luck on the quest

after my Elvis (the king) Budnicks of U-- died (9 years & a month liver cancer)
all my dogs are named after royalty "sort of", it took me a few fosters
& about another month, after them, to find a good lab puppy,
my new royalty Baron Von Budnicks of U--, a 4 months old English white lab

I got on the AKC site & started searching Lab puppies, for months
some were just too expensive, some just didn't call out to me
finally found a breeder about 1-1/2 hour drive away, down in Valley Springs,
sort of local
had a litter of 7, he was the last pup & the only pup they advertised in AKC classifieds
some dogs were 1,500-2,000 miles away
& expensive

It was just meant to be I think

he brings US joy most of the time

him & his mom, at their ranch 4 months old
Budnicks Baron Budnicks of Uhl & his mom laying on the floor.jpg

cute lil dude, had good eyes, good blood lines
Budnicks Baron Budnicks of Uhl face 16 weeks.jpg

a couple months after we got the lil' dude

June this years, Baron just after a 1 year old on May 15th

So after 7hrs of driving yesterday we have found a new pup. I think her name is going to be Hope. She is 4 weeks old and we can pick her up the first week of October. We have all fall and winter to train her which is good as our schedule is a lot lighter.

What a cutie! Just saw a very nice miniature Australian Shepard pup today at the drag strip. I think they get to be about possibly 30 lbs. Being realistic, I cannot see myself possibly giving it the needed attention exercise. My wife wife still walks 1 mile to 5 miles or more at this time per day.
We both think, if the dog outlasts us then what happens to it. I don’t know what is fair for a dog? It is a quandary. We have been dog-less for two years now.

I constantly worry about the animals outlasting me too, and I don’t have any kids etc that could step in.

That’s a tough scenario. Thankfully we have 2 boys that would gladly take our pets. Personally knowing how hard it is with out them I would risk that you or your wife would be there for the dog as leaving this life could happen to anyone of us at anytime so not necessarily aged related. A good dog would be rescued if you have relatives or friends that could care for it. I would get one, give it a good home, enjoy the great companionship and let the chips fall where they may….
