Post up facts and things that hardly anyone knows...... (for entertainment purposes only. NO need to fact check)

What is the deepest known point in any ocean? The Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench. In 2010 the United States Center for Coastal & Ocean Mapping measured the depth of the Challenger Deep at 36,070 feet below sea level with an estimated vertical accuracy of ±50 feet. What is the water pressure at the bottom of the Mariana Trench? A crushing eight tons per square inch, or about a thousand times the standard atmospheric pressure at sea level - the equivalent of being crushed under a pile of 100 fully grown elephants or 10-15 Rosie O'Donnells. Despite the immense water pressure and absolute darkness, the trench is home to a diverse array of organisms including the zombie worm, sea cucumber, and dumbo octopus. What the heck is a dumbo octopus? Here ya go...!

I spent a fair bit of time in Central America in the early’90’s. While traveling in Honduras I noticed a concrete paved highway that differed from all the rest of the highway system construction. When I mentioned it I was told that the highway had been built or possibly subsidized by Ford Motor Company. After digging further and discussing with various sources I was told that originally only FORD vehicles were allowed to use the road. It was supposed to encourage the purchase of Ford cars and Trucks. There was a parallel dirt road (basically a wide shoulder) that the bulk of the traffic was using since they were not Ford products. I had multiple sources tell be the same story. Does not make it true but it was interesting as a marketing effort if indeed it was fact. BTW the road was built in late 1930's early 40's and was a narrow concrete slab, indicative of rural highways during that time.

Amazon River (?)
most freshwater in the world, if you call that 'fresh'
especially with all it's tributaries & branches off
It has been an argument for a few years - there's only about 100 miles difference. Amazon is definitely the largest by volume. :)

Henry Ford had his own forest, for the hardwood he used in the bodies
in Central (? or) South America
& he had a rubber tree plantation, fully staffed for the raw rubber material he needed
& "allegedly" the scrap hardwood, from building the cars bodies, model Ts & up to the later 30's-ish
were used for, to make the 1st charcoal briquets, to be sold in retail stores
called Kings'ford', (Henry considered himself 'a King') the name is still in business today,
whether they still use wood scraps, from Ford Motor Co.
or the Ford family still owns it, I highly doubt it... (?)

Henry Ford was a smart & somewhat crazy ruthless/buss. minded SOB
