Vinyl top reviews

Hi friends. Any reviews for vinyl top providers? I like using Summit and Kee Auto is there vinyl top I find for a 68 Charger.

Well reviewed company in Charlotte but I’m assuming that’s reviews of tops they’ve installed. Would love to hear DYI’ers experience and the glue you used. Thanks

My installer rejected two of them. Seams on the A pillar were way off and the long roof seams were crooked along with other issues. The Legendary fit like a glove and is correct. You get what you pay for.

I bought a Legendary vinyl top for my Newport from Dante's and it fit perfectly.

This is the right glue, I buy the material and make my own tops, its just a couple seams to sew together pretty easy.

I’ve thought of doing that and just folding the seams together with glue and just assemble/trim it on the car.

Last time I bought a vinyl top was around 1998....from Year One.

I cannot remember who their supplier was back then...likely Legendary.

Make sure the roof you buy is laid out flat in the warmth at least a few weeks before installation.

I was very happy with the results.

Brett was my installer...here he is with me and the late All Black legend Jonah Lomu at Jonah's SIL's wedding......

Brett is the shorter guy on the right and that's his Challenger. :thumbsup:

An average guy is not going to buy the tools or have the experience to make a top. This guy no doubt has had years of experience.

I guess if you make a top from scratch the biggest tool is a proper sewing machine? I don't disagree about the average guy, I just don't think most of us on this forum are average. Average guys for the most part, don't keep cars this old on the road, they either have extra skills or a lot of extra money to pay someone else to do it.
