Was curious.. Can i change my door whiskers with the glass in? don't think there is enough room to get them in and out.. Remove the lower window stops, would that get it low enough? Hate those star washers that hold the glass in.. rather not fight with them :)

I know you can on an E body by removing the bottom stop, I think you can on a B body but not 100%..

Thanks... will see, if i can find a pair, they are out of stock everywhere.. It's an item i never thought much bout til my passenger glass got some nice grooves :(

Did change whisker on my 66 Satellite. They were in rough shape, some broke when pulling on them. I had to "make my own whiskers by buying long C body whiskers and moving and sealing chips. This was in 1979 no whiskers available.

Grr.. just called vans.. they have sedan and convert but no hardtop.. 4th place.. Topcat isn't making anything right now as they lost their employees...

See if anyone has repops brand in stock, used them on my 68 and they fit great.

Remove the lower window stops,
Yes that is what I did on a 63 4 door sedan. A hardtop may be easier to manipulate and may not need to remove the stops.
Are you using factory style with the clips ?

Ended up calling the place that makes them... Next run won't be til november.... not in a giant rush so i guess i wait :) thanks guys

I see Detroit Muscle is out of stock. You have a hardtop don't you? Might want to try Layson's. They have a lot of B body parts in stock but sell a lot more A body pieces. They may have some on the shelf.

yeah.. detroit is gonna call me when they get back in stock.. nice people there.... will check laysons

Got mine from Joe, they will be here today. $65 for just the outers.

I did my 67 Satellite without removing the windows. I removed the lower stop but also ended up taking the regulator bolts out so I could drop the assembly low enough.

Yeah... i just put my door panels on and don't wanna remove them :( The slots in the boards are in horrible shape and are only getting worse. I would like to pull my drivers door and repaint it this winter.. so might do them then. I need to find some paint that matches better, The stuff i got is close but a little too bright/white in it in the sun..

P.S. if i repaint that door i will have painted like 1/2 of the car.. but why do it right 1 time :)

You'll need to remove them to drop the windows enough. Break this nut loose and turn the screw. It's an eccentric (oval) that let's the window travel a little farther. Then adjust it back to where you need the window to be.

Also the panels have to be removed to do the inside whiskers.
