Nearly half of drivers killed in crashes had THC in their blood...

Around here it’s terrible.. they make Cheech and Chong look very very mild.. you can’t go anywhere without smelling it or seeing it rolling out the windows... welcome to Illinois stay high & vote for JB..
 
I grew up in the 70's. (Peace) One thing I didn't do was drive. If I was going to get F**ked up. it was in my living room listening to Steve Miller, the Fly like an Eagle album. (or 8 track) :rofl: :rofl: :thumbsup: :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
 
I grew up before that. One thing I learned 60 years ago, living in a drug-infested low income environment is to STAY away from all that. Seeing before my eyes the life destruction that drugs inflicted on my contemporaries. Watching them slowly kill themselves, as it started from weed to more serious stuff. Enough to scare me to avoid any and all.
 
I'm told that weed is far stronger these days than in my days. I'll take their word for it.
Between edible this and gummy that, things have gotten quite accessible to the masses - and
therefore generally acceptable as "normal" in society.
 
If you have a lot of stress in your life weather its your job or something at home or whatever the cause a little weed sure helps but like everything else fun in this world it should be used responsibly, really no different than a couple beers after a long day at work to take the edge off.
 
I do not use it but have to wonder why the study or article does not tell the amount of THC most of the victims had in their system .
Like Don pointed out that stuff stays in your system in detectable amounts for a couple weeks.

Well, it did sort of ....
  • In a review of 246 deceased drivers, 41.9% tested positive for active THC in their blood, with an average level of 30.7 ng/mL -- far exceeding most state impairment limits.

Yep. I had the added incentive of it a)costing money that I could have used on cars or beer, and b) pot never affected me like
it did everyone else. Other than the usual "getting the munchies" part, anyways... :)

Like you, I saw up close as a teen what stuff was doing to others and wanted no part of it.

It’s all part of the master plan. A dumbed down and high populace are easier to control.
 
They passed medical weed in Arkansas about 10 years ago - I don’t know what got in to them. And the State used to brag on TV and radio about how much sales tax they were raking in on medical weed sales.. We have a dispensary down the road from us that is the biggest volume dealer in the State. They had to add a second parking lot to handle all their business. Just think, every one of those idiots driving in and back out of that parking lot on to city streets is probably higher than hell on THC. Really stupid.

Smoke it or eat it, take your pick. I'm not here to say, yes or no, but I don't do drunks either. Drinking has been protected forever by lobbyists in an effort to keep taxes on it down to make sure it stays affordable. How many DUI's can you get if you have a GREAT lawyer and deep pockets to walk you out the front door. You couldn't drive a car, but you could your boat. I know a guy with a dispensary and a women I did work for that lived next door to Ozzie Smith, he got a beer distributorship in a deal once. Like EVERYTHING in life, moderation is key. How many doctors are big drinkers behind closed doors. Over 40 percent of the people between 20 and 30 smoke or have smoked pot. In that that same age group, 60 percent drink regularly. The big difference is acceptability. Both can stay in your hair for about a month. No one really knows anyone if they choose to hide. That doesn't make either of them a problem driving a car hours later, by law. How many sad stories do you want to hear. I agree this is a government problem and both are money makers for them. You can add the lottery and gambling to that list the government loves also.

Yeah, since we started allowing casinos some time ago we are treated to a non-stop assault of commercials showing how much fun it is and glamorous to lose your cash at one. And of course each commercial closes with - Gambling addiction? Call 501-***-*** and get the help you need.
