The '68 Charger in Christine.

Some say it was a '68 front with a '69 body and tail lights. Nope, all '68 as I can tell. Buddy's Camaro is a '67. Christine's engine sounds are from a Ford 428 Super Cobra Jet. Didn't they use that sound for Gator's Ford Custom 500?

Well Christine wasn’t always a 58 fury , they were hard to find so film crews used any 57-58 Plymouths. The general Lee towards the end was any 68-70. Vanishing point challenger tunes into a Camaro. Hollywood does what Hollywood does :lol:
 
After watching the movie, I had to read the book. One of the few times the movie was way better than the book, imho.... My favorite character was Darnell, "You just can't polish a turd"......, great actor for that role.

Did the book have a Charger or a different car?
 
To be honest, I can't remember. I was not into Mopars at that time, still have my 67 Camaro I was given when I was 15. The book itself was way more into the demon spirit that over took Arnie, and not so much about the cars.

Stories are different depending on who is telling them. For years they said that they used all three model years. The last few stories I heard were that no 70s were used due to the difficulty to convert them. I used to see '68s where the round side marker lenses were in place and painted over.

He was the only talent in that movie. Arnie's gf and best friend were horrible. Steven King movies typically don't attract Hollywood top actors. Only the "Shining" that I can recall bucked that norm. What's funny? The novel "The Shining" was not all that entertaining. IMO.

So where is this "Christine II?" Lol. I think it was rumor out running actuality.
 
I had kinda a hottie blonde boss named Christine. I bought the 1/64 Fury model with the Christine logo on the card. I put it on her desk while she was out. She immediately knew it was me because I'm a car guy. I read they had to throw in some F bombs to get an R rating because it wasn't that scary.
