I've always kept mine, they're mine, I paid for them. Got an emissions test on the Durango two days ago, they forwarded the information to the state. I get on line and renewed them for two years for $66.06. They mail them to the house. Same for the Coronet, except no inspection or emissions, they're personalized and historical. Every state has its queer quirks.
 
So my 13 year old laptop just won't cut it any more, so finally broke down and bought a new laptop.

Rant Part 1: I'm so freaking tired of constantly being barraged by advertisements. :cursin: During the setup of this new PC, they try to get you to purchase cloud storage, Microsoft 365, additional insurance, malware software, etc. But what really gets me is it is almost impossible to say no. The windows come up during setup and if you damn near sneeze you are automatically signed up. If you don't want it, it takes careful looking to say no, I don't want it. Then afterwards pop up advertisements come up for these things after I have said no. GO AWAY!

Rant Part 2: I bought a PC that was supposedly bundled with lifetime Microsoft Office 2021. Well, it arrives with no software key. Now I have to communicate on-line to try and get this resolved. :BangHead: Through that they did send me a key that does not work (looks like someone already used it). So I am still working to get this solved, but have no one to actually speak to so I can fix the issue. Really frustrating - just f-ing give me what I paid for... :mad:

The actual laptop does work well and seems really nice though :thumbsup:
 
AFAIK, there is no such thing as a lifetime office365 sub.
That's the whole point of a subscription- it generates money potentially forever.
IIRC Office 13 and some 16 are the last "buy once" versions that will open the current "x" file extensions (docx, xlsx, etc).
 
My hand still hurts to type long posts and fingers don't poke the right letters more than usual...
 
My daily rant has subsided. The RDN, regional district of Nanaimo, the folks that do the building inspections, are a real pain, and difficult to deal with. My new house was approved for occupancy, but I have a shed that was not approved. So no final. Yesterday the inspector approved the new foundations / footings to the shed, and sent me an email that said Final, Passed. No more RDN. This winter I can build the mansion expansion to code, but will not get a permit.

It sucks when your mansion expansion gets an inspection rejection...the final denial. :)
 
The mansion expansion will be 12 x 14, attached in a similar way to the front porch. The house got mostly new stuff. All my old stuff still in boxes can go in the addition, which will be not visible from the road. Can also be the guest room, winter inside stay warm work room.

A car's glove box is called that because it was originally designed to store driving gloves. In early automobiles, gloves were essential for drivers to keep their hands warm in open-air vehicles without heaters and to protect them from vibrations and potential "kick backs" from the steering wheel or hand crank starter. The name stuck even as the compartment's function evolved into a general storage area.

Also, a good spot for an on-board fire extinguisher. I have one there in both of my collector cars.

You are right - there is no such thing as a lifetime office365 subscription. But 2021 was the last MS Office that could be purchased with a subscription key that never expires. That is what was supposed to come with my new PC.

We might need to double check on that.
16 started the "365" nomenclature, and also the subscription model.
16 was the transition year for that, and both a perpetual license and subscription were available.
