Manual transmission spacers

69 b body . Does the 69 b body have those 2 spacers on the tranny mount on a manual setup? The picture in the MMC Detroit book and what I found on line only so an auto transmission. The spacer in the book show it as a washer? Shows it between the bolt and the mount. wouldn't a spacer go between the mount and the transmission? Thanks
 
??? What spacers ???

Assuming you're talking about the mount in the crossmember ... the bottom of the mount has a stud that goes through the bottom of the crossmember and attaches with a nut. The mount attaches to the trans with bolts. There are no spacers - anywhere.
 
I believe the OP was referring to the rectangular washers that are placed between the mount and the bolt that retains the mount to the extension housing.

Square washers basically and my 70 4spd has them

Hmmm??? We’ve got six 69-70 B-body 4 speed cars in our stable and none of them have square washers between the transmission mount bolt head and mount.
 
Those square washers are 1970 and newer. When the mount change design.
They are not spacers.

With reproduction parts yu will find allot application widening to sell more parts.

The described spacers were not used on the 1969 B-body transmission and crossmember with this style of insulator, or mount, part number 2533145, shown in the following image:

The spacers first appeared on the 1969 C-body and D-body with the spool type mount, part number 2892471, as shown in the following image:

The rectangular pieces were called spacers by Chrysler. Although they perform as an added, broader, washer for better clamping, they also space the bolts out to ensure the same bolts used prior do not bottom out in the transmission extension housing. The spool mount bracket is thinner than the earlier mount. The following image shows the spacers, part number 3410700, and bolts:

More information about the spool type mount:

The usage of the spool type mount spread to other body styles over the next few years, replacing the 2533145 mount, as listed in the following:
  • 1969: C-body and D-body started
  • 1970: E-body added
  • 1971: B-body added
  • 1972: Light trucks added. The spacers are the same, The mount is similar in design, but different than passenger cars.
  • 1973: A-body six cylinder added
  • 1974: A-body eight cylinder added. All rear wheel drive passenger cars now included.
The spool type mount and spacers continued through 1989 for passenger cars and 1993 for trucks with three speed Torqueflite.

The spool mount changed some over the years, but the basic function and layout remained the same. The spacers and bolts remained the same. The C-body and D-body started with bolts in 1969, but shifted to studs and nuts in 1970 and later.

The following list shows the part numbers and usage of the spool type mounts:
  • 2892471: 1969 - 1973, varied use
  • 3410310: 1970 - 1972, heavy duty, “Yellow”
  • 3491835: 1972 - 1974, truck
  • 3642831: 1974, all body lines
  • 3817215: 1975 - 1976, with added left side mount bracket for single catalytic converter
  • 3817219: 1975 - 1981, with added mount bracket either side or dual head pipe support, heavy duty “Yellow”
  • 3817295: 1975 - 1989, with added mount bracket either side or dual head pipe support
  • 4032295: 1975 - ~ 1984, truck
  • 4412962: ~1984 - 1993, truck
NOTE: The "Yellow" mounts use a higher durometer rubber for heavier duty usage. Chrysler marked these with yellow paint, and often the work "Yellow" is molded into the rubber bushing.

Left is a truck mount. Center is the basic car mount. Right is the later car mount with the added support bracket.

NOTE: With a few exceptions, largely with older production, aftermarket mounts are only available as the basic mount without the added bracket.
