Does your newer model car have a spare tire?

Spare tire?
What a brilliant idea.

Pricey, but it may be worth it.

for more modern stuff with the 5x115mm
it's not compatible with early Mopars (Fords), 5x4.5"/114.3mm

they have no listings of what the register, 'hub centric size' is either

or 6x4.5"/114.3mm, I didn't even see listed
(Viper & Dakota or Durango 2wd or 4wd, up until they made the bolt patterns different)
not even the truck Ram 1500s with the 5x139.7mm/5x5.5" (1994-2008)
or 6x139.7mm/6x5.5" (2009 - now)

albeit most truck as far as I know come with spares, underneath

anyway, carry on

Of course they do.
The trucks are easy though...plenty of space. The Challenger could have been either way. There are stereo options that take up trunk space which deletes the spare tire.
The development of run flat tires have allowed manufacturers to leave spares out of some cars but those tires are far from perfect.

Spending $50k+ on a vehicle, and wanting a spare tire is asking too much from the manufacturer, unless you're willing to pay extra for a subscription to access the trunk.

The van I drove at work (Ram ProMaster City) was brand new, came with no spare. It did have a can of flat repair spray under the seat though. I only knew it was there by reading the owners manual.

I have a full size spare for my truck, in the back. It used to be underneath, but the unwinding gear did not work. My made in China jack quit the last time I got a flat. Made a note today to be sure I have the gear to change a wheel if needed. We took two spares with us to the Arctic, and two jacks. One old US made, and the recently failed made in China unit. I will check Shirley’s Honda for a spare. Right now I have no idea. She has BCAA.

My 2022 Maverick has a spare, but I don’t think it’s full size. It lives under the truck so I haven’t crawled under to look. Still better than my 2018 Camaro or 2019 Challenger which did not have spares. I started to get a spare tire kit together for the Challenger but ended up selling it.

My wife's 2009 Challenger R/T didn't come with a spare tire or a jack. So I bought a matching wheel at Carlisle for $80 bucks and when I replaced her tires, I had the best one of the four I took off mounted on the wheel I bought at the show. I bought an aluminum floor Jack from Harbor Freight and a lug wrench too. My 2010 Challenger R/T came with a donut spare. My wife's car has fix a flat and an air compressor from the factory.

You're doing it right. I've always said that the problem with a spare is that once you put it on, you don't have a spare. That being said, these days I prefer my AAA card.

One time when I was in the Olympic National Forest in my pickup with my camper on back and a trailer behind me with two quads, I blew both rear tires simultaneously. I called AAA and they asked if I was on a gravel road. I said yes and they told me they don't do service on gravel roads. I waited 10 minutes, called them back, and got a different person. When he asked me if I was on a gravel road I said no and the wrecker showed up a couple hours later and towed me to the nearest tire shop. That's called working the system.

The 22 Colorado came with a full size spare but on a crappy looking steel wheel instead of the alloys the truck came with. So much for 5 tire rotation so got on the net to look for an alloy wheel. Ebay beat everyone around my area and the pics looked good and when the wheel got here, it looked even better.

Post 17.
The tow trucks do not go up the Dempster Highway. Vehicles that leave the road, are still there. My back up plan was to return to Yellowknife and buy a two ton truck. Load the camper van, and drive the truck. We use ten ply tyres. The Tukvan bangs a lot, but does stay together. We can get a lot of dust everywhere. Near the Arctic there are snowmobiles along the side of the road. Many of the bike riders ran less air in their tires for the gravel road. Many of the bike riders got flat tires, and or crashed.
