that looks like a fun project! The tanks definitely seems like a good quality unit, I was pleasantly surprised when it showed up. I do need to figure out a way to set up the vents on the tank, the unit it’s replacing was one of those drop in fuel pumps and that had a “vent” port - this one...
I guess whatever manufacturing delays that they were experiencing have been overcome, this showed up in the driveway today!
install was pretty simple, fuel tank comes ready to install and just needs to be hooked up to the fuel lines and electrical.
When you say you aren’t very mechanically inclined, do you mean you haven’t done anything on this level (engine swap), or are you a newbie to automotive work altogether? Nothing wrong with either case at all, but it may affect which is the better route for now.
An engine/trans swap is a pretty...
Beautiful car, I love the color! And thanks for the info, I’ll most likely pull the trigger on this tank - just need to see what else needs to change On our fuel system to accommodate the new tank.
as for the auto meter drop in, that’s what we did and it definitely looks sharp!
watching this thread closely, have a similar application in that I’ve got a 74 roadrunner and want to go efi. We used a phantom 340 in tank pump and modified stock, but as you pointed out the fuel sending unit doesn’t work properly and so we don’t have reliable fuel level readings.
Need to...
Found it - here’s the rollover valve. I went online and found one that matched the AN-06 size line I was running from the pump, I think I got it from summit racing.
What’s the fuel pump you’ll be using with the sniper EFI? We used an Aeromotive (stealth 340 I think it was called), this has provision for a vent which we connected to a rollover check valve. I will try and find a few photos, or can take a few next time I’m under there.
Hey all,
I posted a similar thread in the exhaust section of this forum but I figure this section may get more responses as it is 74 specific.
I’m installing a dual exhaust on our 74 “roadrunner” clone. Car was originally a 318 auto, previous owner installed 440 4 speed. Exhaust they had on it...
thanks for the reply; stock mine only has the one rearmost mount on passenger side as shown, I think 318s only had a single exit exhaust so that may be why - I could certainly remove it and move the new mounts to those positions, wasn’t sure where it mounts based on our exhaust being turndowns...
Hey all,
I’m in the middle of installing a TTI Exhaust kit on our 74 Satellite/rr clone. The passenger side went together without a hitch, but I’m finding there’s no clearance on the drivers side between the fuel tank and frame to mount the exhaust pipe or tip hanger.
drivers side...
thank you for the advice. I dug through some photos of when we put the trans in, gives a better view of the fork - any way to identify if it’s the correct part without having to take the trans out again? Any measurement or stamped number to check? If not, I may just try to get a longer adjusting...
I don't know for sure, when we bought this car it had already been converted by the previous owner from a 318 auto to a 440 4 speed. If I'm remembering correctly I do think this is a new clutch adjuster kit from Brewer's, I'll have to dig through my receipts to make sure but it should be correct...
Hey all,
Quick question - is having the clutch adjuster out this far “normal”? I feel like this rod ought to be longer but this is where our adjustment needs to be, anything less and the gears tend to grind. Even now, the clutch seems to not disengage until the absolute bottom of pedal travel...
