Glad to read this. I haven't been there for 10 years, but would like to go again.
Also, near me is Leadfoot city, has started on an 1/8 mile track. Thats good for me.
I loved going there. Beautiful. The track was cool, but very run down. I also remember the dip in the right lane.
The track is still being used by Motor Week. Watch it on Motor Trend.
very cool. I was very happy with the times I ran, but it was so close to the 11's. Now the engine is tired. Debating on whether to stroke it, or just rebuild with upgrades.
It's been a long time since I built the engine. But, they are the low compression stock replacement pistons. 9 to 1. From what I've read these are actually lower than that. I had the heads cut .030, and the intake side of the head was cut to keep intake alignment.
Don't forget to try advancing the timing a little. I had the same issues. For me, alot of it was timing, and accelerator pump shooters. Sometimes you have to try all the ideas here, one at a time, so you know what helped.
When I read that Mopar fans don't like it, I got a sense of perverse glee from the author. As though it made his life pissing off Mopar fans. Also isn't this the same issue where the cover car is an AMC javelin with what looks like a 68 Camaro front end? They also moved the front wheels forward...
I have the eastwood kit, and I have parts that i did over 10 years ago.still look great. I'v done intakes, valve covers, oil pans, brackets, cast valley pan, air cleaners. All hold up really well. Like paint, prep is critical. If you don't want to invest all the money for equipment , and time...
Also, do you have the leaf spring sliders where the spring attaches to the spring? They are used to prevent binding the suspension, since the leaf spring, and the ladder bar move in different arcs.
Rawlings was never supposed to drive that car. The show wouldn't have let him anyway. He's not an NHRA certified driver like big bully is. Watching all that pissing and crying from little chief made me sick. I lost all respect for him. Aaron was theoretically supposed to drive, but I doubt he...
My combo is very close to yours. had an 850 dp on my Sport Fury. Would run 12.50-12.40 with the 850. Tried a friends 650 race carb. Went 12.20-12.15. Tried a 750 Race Demon. Went best of 12.12.
When you talk about fuel mileage, you are only running on the primary anyway, so you just need to...
Looks like you are blowing some oil out of the dipstick.
Do you have a pcv on it? Intake manifold could be not sealing. Causing pressure in the crank case. Are you blowing oil out of the breather? If so, might be time to open up the engine. If it's not in the car yet, now is the time to go...
