Thought that would get your attention! First time at street races with a 4 speed. Has a line lock, 3.55 Sure Grip, 255/70/15s. No prep allowed, just water if you want it. Grudge racing. Any advice ? Have not launched this car hard yet, don't know what it will tolerate. Veteran stick guys, chime...
Pinion snubber
When I first bought my Rr, there was a terrible thump when I really hammered it . You could hear it over the exhaust on the 1-2 & 2-3 shifts. Crawled underneath to look & there was no pinion snubber at all. I had a spare punkin, so I robbed the snubber off of it. Thump gone. So...
Good job ! I have not been on the track since 1978. Never ran a 4 speed there before either. So I'm a bit nervous too. P.O. Said car went 12.40's. We'll see what I do.
Look at it this way. You improved 2 seconds in one night. You won't do that again, so it was a good night !
Not $3.80 everywhere. Just got back from a round trip, Boise to St Louis & back. Gas ran from $3.70(Idaho) to $3.02 St Louis. My brother said his town,30 miles further south of StL , had $2.98.
Second time this season. Brainerd finals held at Indy. Do we not race the next day anymore ? Fans get hosed per usual.
Also, isn't this the track with Two pair of lanes? Can't they just move over to the other pair ? WTF ?
Read the book about the Ramchargers. Talks about these cars in depth. I thought there were ten, but the Ramchargers converted their car themselves. So 8 or 9 were "factory built."
Hmmm, when I bang shifts on my car, there is a loud thump. Wonder if it's the snubber hitting the floor? Maybe I need some slappers? Not doing the SS springs or Cal Tracs, street car, rides decent.
Springs
My 63 has 20 inch front segments as oem,so no hanger issues. I rode in a 64 years ago with these springs & it flat hooked. Ride was not objectionable. I did find some #s on Moparts. 456 &457 are 3400 lb & 454 & 455 are 3800 lb.
Does anyone have the numbers stamped onto the SS Springs ? I found a set a guy took off a Challenger that he wants to sell reasonable. I can`t find any #s here via the search. I want them, but only if I can pin down what weight car they are for. They are 20 inch on the front half,So I`m sure they...
In the summer of 1970........
At the North End of St Louis, there was an industrial area known as Hall Street. Lots of action there. Once saw a Red,White, and Blue Duster back off a rollback & get after it. Hmmmmm???????
