I contacted MSD tech support and was told I needed a 8132 Signal Generator. I looked it up and it is described for use with a magneto style ignition system, which is not what I have. The 8920 appears to be correct for my needs but, I want to be sure of proper wiring before I drop another 'C'...
All the current from the alternator passes through the contacts at the bulkhead connector. As the brass wire terminals in the connector age/corrode/become loose from vibration, they become more resistant to electricity flow and that causes heat. With enough heat the connector can melt/fires can...
I recently had to replace my never used new Autometer Ultralite tachometer. Just started the car-no tach? What am I missing? I checked all continuities, The fuel pump speed control, tach, and Fast 2.0 all are tied to the MSD tach output. Only the tach does not work. Any guidance fellas.

If you disconnect the ground cable at the battery and slowly touch the terminal to the battery-does a small spark occur? If so start pulling fuses, one at a time, and test for spark each time. If/when the spark stops occurring you have found the problem circuit. Now you can narrow down the...
Are you sure you have a good 12 volts, while cranking, at the power connection? I have a relay suppling power direct from the battery on my system.

Even if you successfully join this together, will it withstand another event like the one that broke it originally? It could fail at a different point. Now, if you have a machinist friend, you have a good pattern to scan for a CNC machined replacement made from billet aluminum. A big if!
