Perhaps they sent you clips for the front glass by mistake. I ordered front and rear clips last year and got 2 bags of front clips. Drove me crazy trying to figure out where they went until I looked at my Satellite and realized the mistake. Again, this is ‘66 and ‘67 and I’m probably not being...
I'm guessing by your icon it's a '69. While I'm not familiar with that model year I can tell you that on the '66 and '67 all the rear glass clips are the same. However, on the front glass the larger clips are for the bottom and the smaller clips go up the A pillar and across the roof.
When you say it will rev but not accel do you mean will rev out of gear but not accel in gear? Also, how does it start after it dies? As for the carb, my new Edelbrock AVS2 1906 worked great right out of the box, just a little tweaking. My buddy's '55 Chevy has the same carb and worked great...
I located a group 27 Deka battery at a local battery wholesaler. The price is right and I’ve had good luck with these batteries and the shop stands by the warranty. It measures just under 12 inches and as Bob said may be a tight fit. Nice thing is there are no markings on the battery so the...
Just measured the tray and it’s a VERY tight 12x7. Group 27 dimensions may not fit unless they are smaller than advertised. Group 24 is slightly smaller.
According to my FSM, my '66 318A takes a 24-MB-48 battery. Of course that's a 1966 specification which I'm sure doesn't cross reference to today's batteries. I'm guessing the 24 is the group size. MB is Mopar Battery? and 48 AH capacity.
I can't find info on CCA and AH ratings on the web...
The kit I got from @Crackedback took about an hour to install the relays and fuses to the bottom of my battery tray. Everything fit nicely and is hidden well with the tray back in the car.
Just received the unit and I must say just by looking at it the workmanship is excellent!!! A little to cold to install it today but if what I received is any indication of the quality I should have an easy install and hopefully trouble free service.
There is a chain of convenient/gas stores in Upstate NY that offers 91 octane ethanol free gas. Now at $3.94 per gallon. I use it in my Belvedere, I have to use it in my Audi and my wife's T-Bird and choose to us it in her Volvo and my lawn mower and snow blower. I have no idea if I get better...
If anyone is trying to get in touch with @Crackedback and can't, you can email Rob at [email protected]
He seems like a great guy and thoroughly explained his relay systems to me, how they work and the install. I should be receiving mine today. Looking forward to installing them.
I just read an interesting article at Madelectrical.com http://madelectrical.com/electricaltech/brighter-headlights2.shtml regarding the benefits of installing headlight relays. Has anyone done this conversion or familiar with this 'upgrade'? If so, are there schematics showing the process? Not...
@beanhead Thanks. This is how I've wired it, as per the instructions. I'm just curious, however, what powers the ECU upon cranking? If the ECU is connected to the 'run' circuit of the ignition switch and on the resistor (blue wire) there is no power going to the ECU until it comes off the...
Looking for a little help installing a Rick Ehrenberg electronic ignition with the new distributor. According to the instructions I need to run the blue wire from the Hirev7500 module to the ‘run’ side of the ballast resistor. I know the ‘start’ side of the resistor feeds 12 volts to the coil...
My understanding is there are 2 types of felts being sold. The more original Cat Whiskers and the newer style more solid felt strip, which I have been told not to buy. Is this a correct assumption?
Yes, the problem turned out to be in that area. It was a bad oil filter housing gasket between the plate and block...the OEM style are very thin and the Fel Pro fibre gasket replacement #70522 is "thick" and durable and will not crush or leak.
