Those old school intakes are dandy's. THe D4B and LD4B's for the 273's are Golden. LD340's are top notch. The Dp's for the B and RB engines work so well. A friend built a mild 440 with the CH4B and it dynoed at 500 hp and torque. They just work.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from Tony's videos. They can lead you in the wrong direction. Halifaxhops, Mattax and others on this site are very knowledgeable about ignition systems.

Has it backfired lately? Holley's will blow power valves out if they backfire. THey will run like crap. If you don't know a lot about cars find a friend that does. May be you could exchange carbs with a known good one. Revving it to 3ooo and dumping it in gear is not advised.
