Oh ya, they took out the acid (probably replaced it with water). That's why it takes 24 instead of 1/2 hours to soak! I rinse them in my solvent tank and brush the pieces as I rinse.

Try your local auto parts store. They will need the number from the tag/screw holding the top on. It's a very simple carburetor and you can disassemble and clean (spray carb cleaner) it yourself. Blow out all the passages with compressed air and follow the carb kit instructions carefully.

Soaking the metering blocks and main body should dissolve passage crud with a long enough submersion. The EPA made these carb cleaning solutions very weak compared the "good old stuff" so, longer soak time is something I do. You may want to rinse with hot water and use compressed air to blow out...
That car should have a divorced choke carburetor. That's not even a Mopar carb. The two ports you show are clean air (top) and warmed clean air (bottom). The air would have been routed through a small exhaust heat exchanger. The choke looks to have a heating coil too.

You could drill a small hole in the unused area of the sender plate, enlarge the hole with a tapered punch, and solder in a steel return line. Aim the new line away from the float.

I'm running those billet jet plates on my 6 pack setup. They work fine, in fact I went up 10 jet sizes to get maximum power on Steve Morris' chassis dyno many years ago. Perhaps more than one plate design is out there?
