What underside bracket does that use. A picture would be really helpful. That has the cutouts that my trunk has, but all the brackets I see for sale look like they would not work.
Google is your friend in this case. Your clips and the posts they attach to are rusted away. The rusted components need replacing first, which I am sure you know. I did a quick search and tons of vendors and clips came up (all the same for that year and model). Identifying them from the remains...
Is there some form of blocking that goes on the inside of the trunk, or is it just bolted directly to sheetmetal ? My trunk lid has the appropriate cutouts for the wing.
Thanks
Ok, I did adjust the door. Easy peasy...looks good now. I also had forgotten to put the nut on the upper fender mount. Once I did, it really pulled everything inline. Looks great, thanks for the help
Yup, you nailed it. The front of the door needs to come up. The lower door gap deminishes going forward and the rear gap decreases heading down. This would also explain the slight drag on the nader pin.
Muchos gracias !
The door might be a whisker low, now that you mention it. The is a little drag on the Nader pin when opening and closing. I will take a closer look tomorrow.
Hmm, when I disconnected the upper bolt, there did not appear to be any shims. The bolt assembly looks to have a curved (half dome) base where it it attached to the underside of fender. Would this mean that the inner fender is installed too high ?
The left front fender on my car was replaced by PO. It sits about 1/4 - 1/2 inch higher than the front of the door. The door alignment is spot on, so I do not want to fiddle with the door. I was curious if the was a difference with 71-74 fenders.
I do not have any rubber blocks under the glass. The PO installed the windshield with clear silicone which squeezed flat to the mounting area of the a-pillar. The windshield, as it is right now, is about 3/8 on an inch below outside a-pillar height. I would think that the windshield would be...
Hello, I was wondering if anyone has information or measurements regarding my question. Does the windshield have to be even with the surrounding structure to properly install the trim ? I will be removing my windshield in the near future to replace my dash and would like to reinstall the...
Just warming up the area to above 60 wont help. The metal itself takes hours to get to that temp. That is what it ia all about, the temperature of the metal. The surrounding air temp and the paint also need to be warm. If you can assure the three elements, than you should be able to lay down...
What is the installed height of the windshield ? The windshield on my car appears to be about 1/4" below surrounding structure. I have not tried installing the trim, but it looks like there would be a significant gap between the glass and trim.
