I just bought some good used bars that are suppose to be small Block / 6 Cyl bars. I wanted to know other than being Left & Right is there a Correct way to put them in ?
Meaning is the # suppose to be in the Back ? Dose it matter ? I would think the Bar would gain a sort of Memory to it
The...
While putting larger torsionbars on my 1970 B body it looked like the boots looked too small. Even after adding grease, I couldn't push them on by hand. So I found a plastic plumbing connector that is the exact diameter of the torsionbar (point to point). It is the beige piece in the photos...
...nut stop? (see last photo posted) I hear various talk about these needing to be "keyed." The more I read the more questions I have and less answers. 1969 service manual makes no mention of this in the torsionbarinstallation instructions. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob
Hey guys, had my charger on the lift installing the Trans today. I noticed the torsionbars have a boot on the back side of the Trans cross member but none on the front side of the Trans cross member. Is that correct? Or did someone install the bars without the bushings.
One other question...
Ok I know this subject has been beaten half to death but I have a question. All of the posts I have read say to remove the limiting bump stop and shock absorber prior to Stabbing the torsionbar into the socket but the Shop Manual says to attach the shock first. which way is right?
hello gang
i understand the left from right torsionbar by markings on bars but is there a front or back direction also do they need to be clocked or just install
thanks

Minor update. To add insult to injury (literally) my brand new battery started leaking. I noticed some corrosion on my hoist. When I removed it I found one cell was low. Looks like there must be a crack somewhere, but nothing obvious. My buddy Rick replaced the battery no problem. I had...
I bought the white trunk sliders to install on my (very early) 68 Charger but when I went to install them, I noticed that the trunk hinge cam where the FSM says that the slider should rest on looks very different from the "box" style in the manual (both left and right hinges have the same set...
I'd like to add Moog 7103 offset upper control arm bushing to that list.
Installed per the following instruction for added caster alignment.
DO NOT install them per the printed instructions in the kit to get more caster.
Happy Saturday Everybody,
Got a quick question, looking for a general consensus. Just received these T bars from Sway-A-Way. Only one end of one bar is marked. It looks like this is supposed to be a “L” which I assume indicates the driver’s side and the marked end would be towards the rear...
I bought this set of tools off here a long time ago, and never really pulled them out and looked at them. Only one tool had instructions and that's the front lower inner shell removal tool. I know how to use the torsionbar tool, and it worked great. Was just wondering if anyone had some 'how...
1970 Plymouth Road Runner - This car was a street racer, but I'm slowly converting it over to a long distance cruiser. The car has a stock front suspension & super stock leaf springs with 2" lowering blocks (to make car level) in the back. I'm still running the original torsionbars. They...
Great info, thanks Kern Dog. I have a set of 1.12" bars on the shelf, I may slip them in on the initial assembly. The 1-3/8"front bar I have already installed is solid, but I also have a hollow Hotchkis 1-3/8 that goes with the 1.12 bars for another project. So with the solid bar, I should be...
The load is on the LCA, so there's a good probability the bushings are worn. Plus, you must installtorsionbars with suspension at full hang without bumper-stops in to enable full adjustment of the torsionbar adjustment arm/bolt.
You remove the shock and upper bump stop to allow the lower control arm to drop as far as possible in order to take any tension off of the torsionbar for ease of removal and installation. The torsionbar adjuster needs to be backed off all the way also. After installation of the torsionbar you...
The drivers header really beat me up today. I must have had that on and off ten times. That little dimple turned into a big dimple. I also had to flatten the tube just a bit that runs along the torsionbar. The bars are over size so I wont fault Doug's headers. The header and the starter had...
