A good solder joint is just that. A poor joint will leak. I have made 10s of thousands of soldered joints over the past 50+ years, you cannot resolder a joint unless you start from scratch-it must be clean! Mike

The only issue I see is the worm clamp on the inlet hose. A spring style clamp would be better. The rubber will relax under the worm style clamp and loosen. A spring style clamp will always maintain correct pressure on the connection. Mike

Yes, and the sheet metal style has a tab that locates in the hole of the end of the leaf. Use a Visegrip to fold the ends over and hammer them flat. Mike
