What is the correlation between taller rear gears and needing to cool your power steering fluid? What am I missing?

Think I figured it out. I'm not getting 12v to the solenoid. The wire I tapped into got 12v, so something downstream is messed up. I ran a wire straight from battery and it clicks on and off.

Why not pick up another 340 block if your not content with doing a 360. 340s are out there. You could do a stroker and save a bunch of time and money swapping over parts off your current 340 and keep down time minimal. I am a big block guy, but also have a 71 340 4 speed car. Your goals are...
