Since you've already got the intake and exhaust figured out, I'd recommend a good set of alum heads, perhaps the Eddy's, contact Hughes for a suitable cam, and 3.55's in back. 318's can be made to run quite well, done so many moons ago myself. That's a beautiful car you have.

I'm personally fond of this body style. I'd say be more concerned with doing it right, and the way the owner prefers, as rarity does not really matter here. Vinyl top and moldings can always be "added".

Uhhh... The pistons are already out. Why would anyone go through all that to do again at a later date ?

So... the ammeter jumps when you hit the switch, and the fuse blows. What does that tell you ? Time for diagnostic troubleshooting of the circuit.

Time for the machine shop.
