my car was overheating and had valvetrain noise from both sides as if the rockers were hitting the valve cover .took the car to the garage today and turned out to be the distributor was set a bit retarded ...he turned the distributor a bit to increase timing and bang the noise just went away...
my car starts to bump around when the speed is really low like if im driving around 10 kmh leg of throttle throttle off cars starts to bump/jump really bad
is this normal?and got my 4 speed rebuild ...all gears changed expect 4 gear
but i still get a whine when i down shift or let go of the...
i just purchased and new distributor...and the the problem now is i cant turn the shaft unless i use alot of force.(cant turn the distributor)like the one i pulled from my car just turn freely with no effort

is this a problem or is it because the distributor is new?
how do i check if the distributor drive shaft bushing is worn?and if i need to change it can i do it while the engines still in the car?if so how do i get it in and out?

found out my carb setting where a bit lean driving for about 2 days....how do i know if my cars been detonating/pinging or if any damage has been done to the engine?it ran a bit rough while taking off on first gear...first i just though the clucth plate/clutch was giving in....

my car vibrates around 3000 rpm on 3rd,2nd gear .dosent vibrate on idel (maybe a slight shake on the steering)
i think its the transmission thats vibrating(4 speed)...

it was originally a slant 6 ..now its got a bb k member in it(had it in when i bought the car
