I am looking to see what you all have on your 1970 Road Runners or GTX! I currently have 15s on it now but am looking to put a newer style on it! I'm wondering if an 18" rim is almost too much? I don't think I would want to go any bigger. But I would love to see some pictures and see what...
You have 5/8 or so to the fender. A 255 is almost an inch wider than a 235,so a half inch more in each direction. Leaves you 1/8 of an inch. Think that will work?
Sorry.
Edit:your 8 with 3.75 backspace moves everything an inch closer to the fender than his 15x7 with 3.75 bs. The exact problem...
15s have a better selection for tiresizes.
14s though still seem to have a pretty decent amount of new tires available.
60s 70s 75s.
Hard to tell the difference on a car unless you go read the side wall.
I would keep the 14s, some of stock look restorations still run hub caps.
Lol, I just...

I currently have vintage 15x8 American Racing Vectors on the car, with some slight rubbing issues in the rear. Front are great.
I'm wondering what offset I need to order for 17x10s in the rear, and 17x8 in the front. Suggested tiresizes would be great...
Last question first. Yes, disc conversions often move the wheel farther toward the fender. The disc hat is usually thicker than a drum.
It looks like you mini-tubbed it, without narrowing the rearend. That works, but that means you need more backspace than normal, and a LOT more backspace than...
Hello all! The wheels on my 79 300 are in rough shape, and I have never liked them much anyway. I am tossing around the idea of either staying with 15' or maybe going up to 17". Anyone know what tires and wheel sizes fit without rubbing or modifications? Thanks in advance for your help...
I have to decide on what tires to put on the 69 Hemi car. It makes over 700 WHP. That makes the decision a little tough. Sizes I need are Front 245/45-17, Rear 275/40-17
I am leaning toward Mickey Thompson ET Street tires on the back, with an all season on the front.
Discount tire $1025, or...
The .94 torsion bars are weak. These cars were notorious for having soft front spring rates and stiff rear spring rates. 1.0 should be the starting point for torsion bar sizes even with an LA series engine. I run 1.15" bars in my red car.
Years ago, an outfit known as XV Motorsports put several...
I have a 67 Charger, Measure the width of your dog dish covers before you buy anything. There are two different sizes 9" and 10" dog dish covers. I ordered a new set of 14" wheels from Coker Tire, waited 6 months, and the ring in the center was 10" wide and my covers didn't fit. I learned the...
The 14’s are stock. 215/75 in front and 235/70 in back. No mags, just OEM steels with Mopar hubcaps. I also plan to convert the front drums to disc once the snow flies this winter so wanted a little bigger wheel to accommodate the discs/calipers.
Those tiresizes will work, but ONLY on the right backspace. The original torque thrust usually didn't have enough, putting the tires out too far toward the fenders.
Looks good. What are the actual tiresizes though?
20x335 doesn't tell the aspect ratio.
Normally, tiresizes are listed as width, aspect ratio and rim diameter.....335-35-20.
I have them on my ERA 427 Cobra and they have been a great tire. They are pretty highly regarded in the Cobra replica group as a good substitute for the crazy expensive Avons. Not to say they are in the same performance rank as the Avons but a better than average riding and handling tire that...
Dusty in the garage, and a poor camera in my tablet, but this is what I got. The daisies will NOT be used. The rears have too little backspace to put a decent tire on and clear the fender. I want tall fronts and short fronts , depending on if I'm redlighting at the track, or not
There are all aluminum replicas in 15” & 17” and larger sizes, but I suspect all the true to original, chrome steel Magnum 500s in 14/15” size are probably from a single manufacturing source. I know there have been some custom wheel shops that take old centers and weld them to different size...
...2015.
Still, there are lots of threads here on tires and wheels. Just be aware the 66/67 B bodies (other than the chargers) have the smallest wheelwells of any. Just assume that you will be best off with a conservative choice of wheel and tiresizes.
MT Mopar hasn't been here for almost two...
So... I know I'm beating a dead horse here. Reading through many posts about tiresizes on cars. I understand everyone should take their own measurements, so i did. I'm going cross eyed trying to sort out what Back spacing & max tire I can squeeze in that would be optimal on the REAR only at...
I just want a good handling and safe tire that will fill in the well a little bit. The 14s with the tires that are on there seem lost in those wells. So nothing to big nor major, just a little more fill. I got these rims because it’s the style I like and they were 15s, which I felt was what i...
