Hi all,
1975 Fury 318 LA. around 50T on rebuild, Daily driver... I've been having an occasional lifter tick... Now that work is over for a couple of months I've decided to move on the project.. I pulled the valve cover on that side.. at first nothing seam out of order .. nothing way lose...
New ARP bolts for the block. Block is fresh and clean. Nooil was put in until last night when I went to prime. Ran up to 80 psi quickly but was a long time to get oil to the rockers. Finally it came in as I was getting worried. That is making me think that the right bank has a hole somewhere...
Yes. 3 psi. I looked up a Holley switch and it says 5 psi. Wiring should be C- fuel pump, NC- starter relay/solenoid, NO- key run position. I have seen other ones that look like a plastic oilpressure switch for a light but have 3 spade terminals. If my memory is right (CRS) we never had much...
You should be able to get a replacement drain plug, either from Mopar or at an auto parts store. Get one with a magnet on it (you'll see why).
I'm willing to bet the pan threads are fine; worst case you may need to run a tap through them before installing the new drain plug. Get a...

So this past weekend I changed the pump for a stock volume and pressure pump and pick up tube. Cold start it goes to 40psi and hit idel it goes to 5psi. Barley registers on the factory gauge. Any ideas? Motor seems to run fine and no blue smoke from the exhaust. Bad bearing or oil galley plug?
I went with epoxy coating, I have done everything in there but haven’t used a cutting torch. No need to for me. It is extremely durable. We get a lot of sand/salt mix on our roads and in the spring ,Pressure wash the floor and it’s like new. Gas ,oil antifreeze does not affect it. I had garage...
Here's a rebuild kit with both springs and everything else to rebuild a standard volume pump, kinda pricey though.
I'm a fan of high volume/standard pressure pumps. If you've ever primed an engine, a high pressure pump will ask a lot of your drill. Plus no risk of snapping an intermediate shaft...
I will second the GJ site. I have epoxy in my parking area and we use the room for parties too. It easily cleans up. My shop floor is clear sealed concrete but, spilled gasoline will soften and raise hell with the sealer. Sparks from cutting torches and welding will/can mar any floor. Even with...

Better too much oilpressure than not.....oilpressure is cheaper than bearing replacement. The GTX HIGH VOLUME PUMP AND 10W-30 MOBIL1: Cold=80 psi; hot @1200rpm=60 psi; hot @ 4000rpm=75 psi. Zero wear on distributor bushing or gear.

OMG, has it been ages since I’ve posted! That doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy working on the Fury, just been pushing along at a slow and steady pace and limiting my weekly spending. All that being said there’s been a ton of progress, including:
* Got a hydraulic T/O bearing from Ram
* Got...
i did a leak down. It was the same as other cylinders. I'm going to pull a valve spring off and look at the seal I want to check the spring pressure too I never did when I bought the heads and forget what they were if they told me. then check the intake gasket. if the oil ring is bad would the...
Episode 2.
Spent a fair portion of yesterday working on the "Net". First up, adjusting valve lash. Easy peasy... unless someone flippin glued both faces of a composite cover gasket to the covers and heads. It literally took twice as long to clean up that mess than it did to set the valves...
How long have you had the car?
What is “This”?
Oil level has nothing to do with voltage. Your car has an aftermarket volt meter ?
You likely have a choke, or choke adjustment issue. Nothing to do with oilpressure.
Could be a lot of things. Mostly tune up related. Unlikely unrelated to...
To add a bit about startup:
With a flat tappet cam, I would use old, weak springs for break it. Yes, it might seem like a pain to have to change them after break in, but no where near as much of a pain as it is to fix a wiped cam. Even 300# open spring pressure is too much for break in. An...
From my experience, use a Wix filter, not Fram. From an earlier post, if a pushrod bends and a lifter pops out of its bore (highly unlikely), you would have NOoilpressure, not just low.
Only 1, a Ford 302 in a 1970 Falcon. Oil pump seized on my way to high school. Drove it to school and back with nooilpressure, about 35 miles roundtrip. It was getting sluggish, but still running when I pulled back in the driveway.
All the bearings were trashed and the motor was full of...
Ordered an rpm intake for it, hopefully have it installed by next weekends shows. It’s got a pertronix ignition on it, not sure on the timing though. Something to look into. The old sunpro tach has a redline at 4,200 so I didn’t want to rev over that without some more info, not looking to hurt...
