Those old gear reduction starters draw a lot of power, especially the long barrel ones. I switched to all mini starters, straight out of trucks in the junkyard, and from helping to clean out others hoards. They haven’t failed me yet.
I probably will but I’m in no hurry as they are working well for now. I’ve been toying with sending them to Woodruff over the winter because both carbs need bushing in the primary shafts and it’s hard to beat the “as-new” appearance when they come back.
4 speakers is enough for a stereo system, I am assuming 8 track players were stereo output? Does the radio have enough output wattage to carry that many speakers?
