I found it from Resto Rick, just cut and paste.
Here's a sequence I've been working on to post on my tech board...
ASSEMBLY SEQUENCE:
(some variation with different body types)
(from bare painted body shell)
Spray radiator saddle blackout
Rocker panel pinchweld blackout (if applicable)
Front...
I would like to cut a 3/4 inch hole, on forward and aft side, of passenger side torsionbar mount bracket to run a fuel line. Currently my lines are in the factory positions. Car is Sniper EFI so there are two metal lines. I have AN fittings with -6 steel hose for connections at tank and at...
It's been two years this coming month since I started replacing the torsionbar anchor and redid the brake lines. She had a tired three eighteen, so I replaced it with 440. Dealing with a dishonest machine shop, whose ad claimed they knew MOPARs. I trusted them, big mistake, they carelessly...
This is good info Peter. My 68 Satellite is 99% street car, but I tried to build it to handle. Not knowing much, I installed 2" drop spindles so I wouldn't need to lower the torsionbars as much to get the stance I wanted with the front fender lip at the top of the tire, thinking that this also...
Thanks, was this on jigsaw? I think I was reading that thread the other day. I’m kinda dreading the header install because of the trial fitting, and the bashing, but I’ve made my choice and I’ll “suffer” the consequences
I’m sure the TTIs are the bees knees, but $1k is hard to shell...
Take the weight of the car off the adjuster, weld a nut on the end of the broken adjuster, dress the threads so you can screw the new nut on as far as possible before welding. Take a torch and heat the square block dull red and use an impact wrench to remove the adjuster. Make sure you do not...
Ride height set too low OR weak torsionbar OR install a front sway bar.
Other possibilities: broken torsionbar mount in frame OR loose LCA pivot nut.
Also worth noting: the ride height should be adjusted with the nuts loose on the lower control arm pivots. The nuts should then be tightened...
First off, before you try to fit the inner rockers to the outer rocker skins...... make sure you have the rocker braces (I believe there are 2 of them) and that they are installed inside the outer rocker, they are spot welded in, before you install the inner rocker to them. I HIGHLY
recommend...
I own a 1974 RoadrunnerGTX, I went with the large torsionbars, and PST polygraphite front suspension and steering kit. Poly K member mounts, Borgeson steering box. Drives and handles wonderful, install a rear sway bar if yours didn’t come with one from the factory.
I can see the factory rod being stronger than the QA1 tube, if the tube is aluminum.
I'm almost done with the install, but the driver's side has got a bind in it. The passenger side is smooth with the front of the bar indexed like this -
The driver's side is indexed the same but something...
Thank you for this explanation...but one other question. When the LCA is hanging down does the adjusting arm (in the middle) need to be all the way up or all the way down? I don't recall how it was situated when I installed the Torsionbars, most likely was all the way down....everything went...
A 426 hemi in stock form/all iron
minus the carbs & exhaust manifolds (I believe)
are/is very close to 765#s,
- take off 75#s for alum heads
+ add 60#s+ for the exhaust manifolds & another 10-12#-ish for carbs & linkages
another few #s for the aircleaner/s
690# with alum heads & intake, appr...
Why do you think coils are going to handle better than torsionbars? What do you epect to gain by swapping leafs to something else? Or are you looking to change geometry? You still have to deal with bumps. Reinforcing for flex is always a good idea. Moving weight off the nose is good. Most of...
A small sidetrack from the Borgeson:
Now when the steering box and pump is out, then it is a good time to install the Schumacher Torque Strap.
At walking speed or standing still and turning, my engine vibrates so that my headers hits the torsionbars and make this loud "GRGRGRGRGR" sound thats...

Been there, my 73 had broken OEM adjusters when I bought it. My first choice is torch, I can have them out in less than 5 minutes a side. Yes you will scorch paint. Raise the car high enough to be able to work with the suspension hanging. Cut off the lower half of the bolt flush with the nut...
My daughter and her family joined us for dinner so no major garage time tonight. I still made a little progress, a couple of much needed parts showed up.
There’s a lot of work left to do under the car. Besides the torsionbars, I need to bolt the converter and flex plate together, install the...
