    Hypothetical Question

I'd tell him to jam it...but then I'm old-school. 34 and still acting like a baby - time he grew up. If his mother doesn't like it...she can jam it too. As BB King said "As long as I'm payin' the bills, I'm payin' the cost to be the Boss!"

The cost of a paint job.

Yes the materials are crazy high but you guys aren't taking into account the labor cost which is most of it. I put a $40,000 dollar paint job on my last build. ~$9,000 in material and ~1,200 hours of labor, blocking starting at 180. I'm old and slow but do the math.

Sadly no. Its a 1965 Sears Craftsman “Heavy Duty” with a fiberglass hood, 6 horsepower Tecumseh, and 33 inch deck. I had it for 2 years and I never did anything with it, now is finally the time. Its been sitting outside for years before I bought it and the motor is locked up so I gotta get it...

    Built vs Bought

I have been selling off some of the project cars and buying cars that run and drive lately.

    Hypothetical Question

That's great advice... I concur... women & their children are not separable, it's kind of a package deal... I'd lay the law down & tell him it's a 1 time deal, with the rental & ins., he needs to pay you back, it's not a gift, it's a loan, a short term loan, like a month & he needs to grow up...

    Built vs Bought

Buying is the easy button. Sounds to me like you pro "Buy" guys are trying to justify your lack of ability to "Build". I mean you Steve. I crush it at shows when the judges find out I built it myself, everything, paint, wiring, upholstery, glass, everything. It gives a great sense of...
