You have a “bare post” on the starter relay? Green wire? You are not using the clutch pedal switch? You need to ground that “bare post” to be able to activate the relay from the ignition switch.
Fitting the alternator isn't to bad. If the water pump housing is milled the thickness of the plate all the pulleys will still line up. If using a plate use no gaskets. RTV only works perfect. If you want to move the motor a little for more clearance that is easy as well. Jerry Stein showed me a...

I put some recovered Recaro seats in my 68 charger. Eventually want to redo the back seat, but with the change to steering wheel, 5 spd and seats, I think they blend in pretty well.
Maybe the item was not actually in stock at the shop the day you walked in, and they would need to ship it out to you?

This is a Set Of OEM 1967 & Earlier RB Engine Pushrods. They fit the
1958 to 1967 383RB, 413, 426w and 440 engines. They are original, not china

I would think you are way past any solid probationary hiring period. I suspect legal advice here is best. However, if your current employer is on the ropes and motivating them pulling a fast one, there likely may not be much left to receive after a bankruptcy if you pursue legal recourse...
