Hey Shaggyracer I might be able to help you out. Can you post a picture of what you have. If the same as the 73 there are two chrome metal clips that cover the screws that hold the strap in place. For a number of reasons these bits always seem to go missing. I always keep my eyes open for them...
screw it into place......... enough to hold it, but dont over screw it
