My 440 seems to be a little slow picking up oil pressure if the car has sit for several weeks. The engine is fresh with maybe 1,000 miles. It has a 402 pan/pickup and everything was normal there when I built the engine. I run 10w30 oil in in the engine and it currently has an STP oil filter...
My 66 Charger came with a 360 with a 1973 date code. I have no idea what has been done to this engine prior to my ownership. I upgraded the front end to Disk brakes and a Borgeson power steering unit. While bolting my new Power Steering pump in the bolts that bolt into the water jacket pulled...
Two questions please.
1. Can a rebuilt stroked engine with 100 miles on engine but only 30 miles on recent oil change have dirty oil on dipstick? See pics for plug and soot on my finger from exhaust pipe.
Car has only been driven easy do to other issues such as brakes.
2. If the engine is a...
...except 1” torsion bars, possibly upgraded but stock configuration steering. For an engine whose main purpose is hot street use, I wonder whatoil pan you recommend that is also compatible with the windage tray that I have. Milodon 30930, 30761, 31580 are contenders, but I am open to other...
Greetings! I did my first oil change on a big block Mopar last night. I looked up the recommended filter for my car and came up with the WIX 51515. After draining the oil I removed the old filter, put a little oil on the new filter gasket, and tried to install it. Note: I didn't fill it with oil...
Oil pressure gauge sending units have such a varied price range. Is this a true example of ‘get what you pay for’. Or is manufacturer more important for accurate readout? NOS could be fine but not critical. Thanks! :thankyou:
i have a 360 that came out of a 1990 d150. im putting the engine into a 1973 charger. What type of oil pan would i need. Are all oil pans the same? can i just find an oil pan for a 360 for a b body and that will work or will it differ because of the motor year?
I’m getting ready to pull the 4 speed in my 66 to see what it needs. I’ve always had some oil of some kind at the lower front of the transmission and never 100% sure if from the rear main or the transmission. Well, today I cracked the bolts loose to the bellhousing before having to quit for...
This is a OEM 1970's Twist On Oil Filler Cap. It is original,
not a china knockoff, and is in decent condition, just needs a
cleanup and repaint. I can no longer remember for sure what engine
this came off of, but I believe it will work on small and big blocks.
$10.00. Local pickup, or buyer...
I went to check my oil level because I noticed a little more oil under the car than usual. Found that the dipstick and dipstick holder (not sure what it’s cslled) are not even connected to the engine block. Just hanging there. No idea when this happened. Drove it yesterday just fine.
I was...
Hello guys slowly sorting out all the little gremlins on the dash 1st problem i had a undecided fuel gauge which would work when it wanted anyway sorted that one out with a new solid state gauge cluster voltage regulator & i was hoping it would also sort my oil pressure gauge also but no such...
Wally world has 15w40 Rotella T4 for $71 - 5gal right now at a rollback price. That's $14.20 a gal which is a real good price for here. Might be different elsewhere I don't know. That's what I run in my 18 Cummins diesel.
Robot or human?
I was reading my email from Motor1, and I read about oil testing.

I'm getting my 71 Satellite ready for a drag race in September. It's currently running the stock oil pan. I'd like to get a decent oil pan with good baffling that won't drag the ground or cause fitment issues as this car will be returning to street duty after this race. What are you small...
What do you mean by you're surprised at what the oil looks like? A new filter and oil is never a bad idea. You can cut the old filter open and see if there is anything nasty in there.
We have a big block that I want to slap together. It has all the parts in boxes. We thought we'd hone the cylinders and I suppose we should use some light oil but what kind/weight oil?
