The good news for you, then, is that a 500 should be way more affordable.
You may want to concentrate your efforts there.
I seem to see a lot of 383 2 barrel 500's for some reason.
Also, not sure where you are, or if it's important, but 500's are more likely to have AC.
Originally it was bottomed out completely for some reason. We removed the driveshaft, shortened by 1” and reinstalled with new u joints. It now sits about 1” from bottoming out and has room for movement.

I read through that. I could try replacing the tailshaft bearing and the rear end seal he mentioned. I believe my angles are correct but will triple check!
Pure stock is my go to, fast you can do a lot more as long as it’s hidden..
They both are neat classes but I will say pure stock is more authentic imo.
