Where did you and your car go today

Yesterday was my first real run with the new front suspension. Theresa and I went to her cousins farm. 50 miles each way and it was a blast to drive. We saw 12 dead deer on the sides of the highway. These guys tucked us in the cradle and we hummed along doing 70 to 80 all the way there. It was dark on the way home when we left his house.

We stopped on the way there to pick up a bucket of Colonel Sanders.

You should eat better than that.

I got in some street racing action with the Coronet:

Ok its really poor AI stuff where I fed it a pic of my car. Maybe I'll try again with some real effort.

I was born to die................. It's great once you wring it out. Theresa's cousin enjoys it. I remember my dad loved it and when we first came here his grasp of the language was still a work in progress. He would say, let's stop and pick up chicken on the way................. code for Colonel Sanders. LOL. He was 89 when he passed away.

KFC changed about 3 years ago.

Now it's way more greasy (as if that was even possible, but it is), there's more fatty material that makes the batter less likely to cling to the chicken, and the chicken quality in general has gone down noticeably.

I used to be a big fan, but now about all I can handle from there is the pot pie...
...which has also gone downhill with respect to the amount of chicken inside.
Used to be many quarter and 50 cent piece sized chunks.
Now you're lucky if you get one or two 1/4"x 2" shreds along with the ground bits as small a paper hole punch circles.

I had a breast, skin removed. I have always had a thing about their coleslaw, both sweet and tangy. 8 piece original chicken, large mashed potatoes, large coleshaw, 35 bucks. Smile on his face............. priceless.

I've noticed that too about the batter not staying on. I used to love me some KFC back in the day tho, in a strange coincidence I had one of their sandwiches today for the first time in a long time. I did try the BBQ they started to advertise hoping it would be the tasty sticky baked on sauce I remembered as a kid. It was not, it was slop that just fell apart.

I call their coleslaw a cabbage kids cereal. But thats not meant as an insult, I really like it, but it makes me think of a sweet cereal.

The best chicken local to me is currently Charley Biggs.

It's franchise that's sold at several gas stations, but...

The final product state is dependent on the actual franchise, and how they prepare it.

One about 5 miles away is incredibly good, while the one closer to me is fair.

They also only serve legs and thighs, but however they cut their thighs is unlike most all I've ever experience, and they eat like a breast.

There was one KFC in town years ago that seemed really greasy. Not sure if it was procedure or personnel. I'm a breast guy........
