I've always been a Mopar mega fan, but I've never heard of this. In the 70s you could buy a six pack that had been converted to mechanicals for 300 bucks. Some guys who didn't like mechanicals would trade straight up for a good working four barrel set up.
I ran two of the mechanical setups with all 3 accelerator pumps. Very nice setup with great response and super easy to tune. 3.23 gears, 4 speed on one of the setups and it had awesome response.
Almost all I know about six packs is book learning. I remember car magazines back in the day talking about mechanical linkage on six pack cars. It was said that they work just fine for drag racing as one was coming off the line with enough RPMs to avoid bog. on the street was a different...
I spent some time putting some more of the parts back on the car. Mostly focused on finishing the grill and getting the dog dishes on so it looks a bit more complete (albeit missing a hood.)
Really pleased with the overall look, it is coming out just how I imagined. Still more to go though...
Friend of mine and work partner was killed in a crash yesterday morning. He was only 24. Always seems a little bit tougher when these things happen this time of year.
