I searched forums for CME or Carolina Machine Engines and didn’t find to may reviews and nothing bad. I also check BBB and same.
So I decided to go with Carolina Machine Engine for a rebuild of my 440, I gavet hem a call and talked to them and the sales person gave all the right answers. On April...

Thanks for the report. I have talked to another guy who used CME and he said they were great. Said he had them build him a 440 with the optional Six Pack set up and it ran great. He said he went to pick the engine up personally. While there CME gave him a guided tour of the facilities and were...
...Chevelle went right before me and put down 310 to the wheels.

Looking good, thanks for the pics...my project took me a different direction this weekend, gaskets will go on soon.
BTW, have you been happy with the selection of CME so far? I am seriously considering them myself.
Iv read a lot of horror stories about INDY crate engines and see a lot of people say good things about the crate engines summit carries. I found CME engines ad in Mopar muscle mag and looked them up they seem very reasonably priced. Any one know anything about them or use them? Quality, customer...
...superior product.
I actually got to meet up with KnoGood (Patrick) this weekend which was the member I originally spoke with when debating my CME Motor and recommended he just swap the cork for the blue Moroso's as a pre-emptive measure.
As far as CME goes if you read through the thread...
...building a motor. This should free up a little more money for the paint job. I'm hoping I can get 500hp with a stroker kit and etc.. I think the CME engines that I was considering, that made 500hp, were about $7000. So what do you guys estimate I'll spend building my own 400 block 500hp...
Thanks Dev, and I guess I can thank CME for the choice in rockers as it's their build.
Thought this was pretty cool and different at last nights cruise night.... a Grand National powered Toyota Celica
...look better than I anticipated I was actually worried they were going to "french up" the car
Got everything sorted except the timing gear which CME has agreed to send me the replacement parts for (they also offered to do the repair if I could bring them my motor but clearly that doesn't...
Thanks, I've thought about CME, I wonder how much providing a core will knock off the price? Maybe I'll give them a call.
As for the Muscle Motors 451... It's got me thinking about breaking my budget.
Thanks for all the posts guys. I'm still undecided, but I have a ton more helpfull info to...
I got a buddy in Ohio that ordered an engine from CME in July of 2013. They told him 6 to 8 weeks to build it. He got it in January. Be prepared to wait.
I went with CME because of their reputation after much research, I have a six barrel in my road runner now and love it so it was an easy decision to go with the 6 barrel. Plus it looks great.
CME is done my build and I just got my Dyno sheet and quick vid from CME in email. I can't seem to convert the video to something that I can upload to YouTube but as soon as I figure that out I will
I chose the 522 Ci 525hp/625torq combo and my peak numbers were 526.5hp @ 4900 and 659.3...
Nice numbers Goon - Power to the Mopar!
We have been having a Dyno Day in Billings MT for the past 4-5 years, it has gotten to be quite a competition. My car only made 377WHP but I know my car was running pretty rich and my rev limiter was set to 5400, so there might be a little more there...
