Well we asked for this section so sure as hell better use it. I'll kick this one off.... A bit about your ride, plans and a few pics

AngryBird is actually a 68 Roadrunner dressed up as a 69. 522 CME Crate Motor, Wizard Cooling rad/fan package, currently 4 speed but have everything on hand to swap in a T56 (Thanks in part to custom fabbed parts, a lot of help and a great tutorial by 747Mopar) and also have a D1X Procharger that will eventually find a home with my Stroker. (Stroke and Blow!)

very nice HYRDGOON,
glad we got it too, enjoy

mine is far from finished,
more of a resto-mod too,
but love them all

old photos of "the B_I_T_C_H" {as my girlfriend fondly calls her...LOL}, but you'll get the vibe anyway

My 68 Charger.

IMG_0281.jpg

Here's mine, I keep saying it's done but something always pops up. It's a 69 Charger that started life as a 318 auto but by the time I got it it was missing the motor, tranny and pretty much the whole interior so it was an open canvas haha. This was my first Mopar build and I was determined to built every last bit of it myself minus the upholstery work just to see if I could (painfull experience but it's paying off).

Motor..................456" stroker

Tranny................Viper T56 6 speed

Seats..................03 Stratus buckets and 05 Chrysler 300 rears

Wheels................US Mags "Ramblers" 19X10 rears and 18X8 fronts

My 66, work in progress. Soon to be a lot more progress.

Gen3 mockup motor

The actual block I am using

Should be a lot of progress in the next few months. Here is the link to the build thread I started waaay back. http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/showthread.php?54551-66-Charger-Pro-Street-w-GenIII-426

Me thinks I'll like this one, the 1st Gen Chargers can look great when done right and it looks like your headed in that direction. Nice

Looks like somebody is planning on going fast!

Looks like somebody is planning on going fast!

go fast & turn well too...LOL, novel concept....

If it's ever freaken' done, I've built so many others,
someday I will finish this one, if it kills me & it ain't going anywhere,
it's too hard to let them go, done it way too often already...

especially after all the money, time & effort

Hell, I guess it's my turn! My destroyer of wallets and tires, aka "frankenstein," is a "real deal" numbers matching '69 Charger R/T SE that has always been my dream car, and I'm building it accordingly- within reason of a 23 year old's budget working in a machine shop 9 hours a day lol. Just a basic outline of some of what's done, what I'm in the middle of, and what's around the corner:

Going:
- .030 over, forged, balanced 440. Currently wearing original iron heads, looking to replace with aluminum
- full sequential megasquirt-based efi
- Aeromotive Phantom 340 in-tank fuel pump
- Procharger P1SC, 8-10 psi, front mount intercooled
- Dougs headers 1 7/8" primaries, out to custom 3" x-pipe exhaust and flowmasters
- Viper T56 6 speed
- unsure on rear end for right now, probably need to go Dana. Currently has an 8 3/4

Stopping:
- '75/76 A Body big bearing front disc brake conversion, giant single piston. Would like to do the viper swap at some point in the future
- probably going with Wilwood rear disc conversion
- dual MC manual, wilwood pedal setup (also for adding the "man pedal")

Turning:
- currently thinking 6 point rollbar
- global west subframe connectors
- upgraded torsion bars and leaf springs, probably going to machine 1" rear lowering blocks
- QA1 stocker star single adjustable shocks
- hellwig 1 3/8" hollow front swaybar, adco 7/8" rear
- most likely going with QA1 tubular k member and uca's
- I'd like to go torq thrust II, but currently sitting on Coys C5 17x8" front, 18x9.5" rear. For any kind of autocrossing it'd be nice to pick up a pair of 18's for the front as well
- currently wrapped in nitto nt555's

The rest:
- Triple black with matte black "Laughin Larry" Speedfreak logo tail stripe
- Mildly modified interior panels
- fabricated sheet metal console
- fabricated carbon fiber instrument cluster/ dash panels
- Speedhut custom Revolution gauges
- simple modern stereo and sound system, in mostly stock locations aside from kick panels
- cell phone/ tablet heads up display of engine vitals bluetoothed from ecu
- Gen III Dodge Viper front seats
- undecided on rear seat, possibly just re-wrapped factory seat with center buttons removed
- core support cover panel
- Trunk closeout panels, with trunk mounted battery
- chin spoiler
- no vinyl top, possibly some shaved trim, otherwise pretty stock looking body

Originally bought looking like this with even more hidden issues than were visible:

buildthread1 (1).jpg

But I've made a bit of progress over the past couple years (including totally rebuilding my totalled chebbie and recently kicking off a slow start to my own hotrod shop):

20150405_143456.jpg

Also have my '67 Chebbie (don't shoot, guys! This is in the off-topic section! Lol) that was also built with turning in mind, and will see some hillclimb action this summer. Corners incredibly well despite the mildly modified suspension (1 3/8", 1" swaybars, qa1 stocker stars) and 15" wheels/tires, although I did box and further reinforce the chassis. Still a work in progress, and the Dodge's ratty twin

Wow, nice clean looking ride Rocketman!

Always have loved Benno's, perfect wheel size and ride height. I noticed your fan setup and have been considering the pusher route myself, got any info on it? If you have a moment I'd love to get measurements from the ground to your wheel opening, I'm getting ready to drop mine just a touch more and want it to look exactly like yours haha. What can I say "you nailed it"!

thanks man, the pusher fans are only there because I could not fit the pullers in, but it works great none the less, they are SPAL dual 11" 2750cfm I believe, summit has them for like $300 If I remember.
the measurement from ground to front wheel arch is 610mm, rear is 640mm, I had to wind her up a bit or could not get it out of shed haha.

yours is still one of the nicest chargers around mate, images49UBUIYU.jpg

Thanks! I know what you mean, I had a tough time getting a fan and pulley combo that would fit mine. I'm running a thermal clutch fan that does a great job but makes turning the crank for rocker adjustments an absolute PITA. Thanks for the measurements even if they are in metric haha , got a few things to take care of before I tackle that.

Joe: I have no doubt that 6.1 would be boosted too but I bet it's gonna haul *** in your wifes car! Your car is one of my faves on here and it's what a Pro-Touring ride is all about! Someday I'll get there my hopes are drive it every season I can and get projects done in the downtime so I don't lose the car through a summer.

747: I'm lucky enough to say I've seen your car in person and it's incredible!

Budnicks: You have some really nice pieces into your bird!

Rocketman: That is a fine looking GTX!!

Benno: Another one of my absolute favorite cars on here... absolutely perfect and breathtaking!

Speedy: You are way too skilled beyond your years. Franky is gonna be a mean MoFo when he hits the streets!

Right now my next 2 big projects on the books are the T56 swap in and Procharger install. Just collecting the bits pieces right now and everything will eventually go in.

Eventually get around to full suspension upgrades and spoke to my bodyguy last week since I need a trunk pan about doing some mini tubs at the same time to give me a little more room under there as I'll eventually go slightly bigger with the wheels and rubber. I love the look of my AR 17's but I do regret not going to a bigger to a staggered 19-18 and likely will end up with a different look.
