Was 7 in 58 and the Edsel came out.....went app over it and the local dealer was giving away friction motor cars and I had to have one. Dad hated Ford products and didn't want to take me to 'get that promo' car but he relented and I got that car.
Riding a bike in the rain is always fun.....lol. I bought a bike when I first came home from the military and rode it even if it looked like it was about to rain. Had a 71 Super Beetle at the same time and there was nothing super about it! Hated that car!
The 57 is my fav.....but don't care for the mid 50's suspension technology. My sister and her husband had a suicide door car and irrc, it had the 429. I do remember it riding like it was a huge stuffed sofa while doing 90 the highway.

I'd used to squirt the 'bad' spots with used oil on a 67 Dart in the mid 70's. Had one spot that I didn't do that to and it rusted through before any of the other bad spots....
Have 2 red pickups....a 96 Dakota and a 97 2500. Had the Dakota about 5 years now and was too nice to pass up. Had the 2500 since 2001 and it ran too good to pass up but I got it fairly cheap since the red clear coat was already pealing. The Dakota has been repainted....
So far, never been...
