If it is a new orange box it probably will not work well in the heat, the transistor on the front is fake and just done with internal circuitry. If it is a older box the ground could be a problem, best to run a ground off mounting bolt to battery.

Another thing to mention about fan clutches is the way they are stored. Can't remember which way you are supposed to store them, but if the fan clutch you bought was not stored "correctly" it will take some driving to reset/release it.
