So if you were to chart the RPMS. Are you saying it'd look more like a slow rolling hills country road when I'm talking about it looking like a EKG chart of a person on a treadmill.
You got to bounce it all over the RPM range and quickly too. I bet that's the failure on your part!
Now for the million dollar question! Did you leave the RPM's at 2200 the whole time, or did you vary the RPM's from say, 1500-3000+?
I will hold a steady RPM, but I'll also let it slip down to say 1500, then blip the throttle to get to a quick 3 or 4K RPM and then let it settle back down, then...

That's the most lame duck excuse answer I've ever heard/read in my life! Ask him how he tells if a block is cracked or not just by eyeballin it, then ask hime what sonic checks are for? He's a Mopar guy that's been smokin to much cheeba, I'd offer half what he's asking or look for something...
