I ended up selling the Stealth, and the Charger isn't hurting anything - I post it now and again on CL and if it sells great, if not, I'll hopefully return to it one day - just thought I'd post a few more pics and say that it's $5000 firm.
I installed the headers and forgot to seal the bolts -...
Okay, I'm needing both my cars gone now! Make me an offer on either - dropping price to $8500 on the Turbo Stealth and $5000 on the Charger - I'm running out of time here folks!
1974 Dodge Charger SE - move is forcing me to sell my baby
440/727
Cragar SS rims
Running/Driving - needs crossmember modification before long distance drive (tranny mount is different) - to drive it home is at your own risk!
Needs: lower rear quarters, paint, headliner and passenger upper door...
I figured it out - was too late last night -
on the relay - there was a stray wire that was poking out energizing the relay - it was a single strand from the battery hot wire. Got it the right way now. It's all good =)
Okay - the charger's ignition and electrical has been ran thru by probably 10 different people judging by the lines running everywhere - I decided today to start rewiring.
new mini-starter - new battery - new cables
Currently -
Grounds run from frame to battery, battery to motor, motor to...
for my part the point is moot - the holley is on the 440 and the car is up for sale.
for academia sake keep going =)
and for that same cause - yes if the motor is a 440 with more than 8:1 compression using any sort of aftermarket or higher performance intake, headers etc - then a 600 is...
no, the holley was on the 318 - the Thermoquad came from the 440 - and since it's vacuum activated there's a was a lot of overuse of it IMHO - it's NEVER too big supposedly - however that doesn't mean it's the right carb for every occasion. I have a 440 that is rated at less than a 318's HP was...
honestly I know a lot of people don't like PCV cause it "gets oil in the with the fuel" - but that's because of improperness - I have found on boosted cars, that they have a serious issue when pressure is on the intake side and then it bleeds into the crankcase (in addition to what is generated...
hmm... yeah... I was thinking more along the lines of a nifty little 318 68 something nice and simple... I'll probably keep the charger, I'm sure few people will think it's worth much.
Got my 440 Charger up and running - still need to cut the new Crossmember (tranny is held in place by two stout chains at the moment (I'm close to Arkansas I can act like a redneck =P )) but it's a bigger car than I'm used to - not huge, just that Ive only had one other B-Body - a 67 Coronet...
just had it towed... been a bad day. I'm tired... all I need to do is attach the linkage plate and lower radiator hose and I'm ready to rock and roll... but I'm pooped =(
restifying is more like it - in the end this is aiming for a Dana, T-56, and a pair of turbos built for a Grand National =)
good news, I'm going to actually have the sheetmetal fixed and then after a bit o' blasting get the car repainted, to actual no reflection/true flat black =)
found the answer - since searching led to B&M and I have found that my shifter is a B&M - with the tranny installed in the car, pushing the shift lever all the way to the rear is PARK. All the way forward is 1st. Also the shift cable bracket is universal from 904 to 727 - so I pulled it off...
lol - I'm a moron but not that bad =) I meant the shifter on the tranny itself - the little arm that is moved by the cable - when I put the shifter (as in the actual shifter on the floor) in Park - the cable is fully extended - which would move the shift arm on the tranny all the way back - is...
