HELP! (tranny linkage)

I think this car is a bit o'nightmare!

Recently found the following (after I have the 440/727 tossed in) -
I have a floor shifter (cable activated - was used on 318/904)
I have a column shifter (lever removed - was not being used)
I have a clutch (slammed into the floor and wired down - looked like a little foot rest until I pulled the carpet)

so... umm... I'd rather just use the floor shifter (B&M or Hurst - haven't really checked)
which direction does the tranny shift lever move? (meaning is all the way back park or all the way front park - I'd check but I still need the new driveshaft made so I can't)
it's the one piece kickdown style - so I'm good there... I am able to fab a new bracket for the linkage but need to know which way it goes...

Towards the dash is park whether it's a forward or reverse pattern valve body in the trans..................assuming the shifter was installed facing the proper direction to begin with

lol - I'm a moron but not that bad =) I meant the shifter on the tranny itself - the little arm that is moved by the cable - when I put the shifter (as in the actual shifter on the floor) in Park - the cable is fully extended - which would move the shift arm on the tranny all the way back - is all the way back "park"? Does that make better sense?

found the answer - since searching led to B&M and I have found that my shifter is a B&M - with the tranny installed in the car, pushing the shift lever all the way to the rear is PARK. All the way forward is 1st. Also the shift cable bracket is universal from 904 to 727 - so I pulled it off the 904 - volia!

yes, now the final test is when I get it back from the driveshaft shop tomorrow - will I drive it home or have to have it towed?

just had it towed... been a bad day. I'm tired... all I need to do is attach the linkage plate and lower radiator hose and I'm ready to rock and roll... but I'm pooped =(
