Ok, here are the pics of the passenger side. The pads anbd rotor actually look s good so I don't think they need ot be changed. I'll check the back drums now. Brake pedal is just spongy. Will also check to see if they need bleeding.
Hi, sorry if this is a repeat question but I searched and didn't find anything. Probably user error. It's time to change the front pads ( and maybe the rotors) on my68' Charger. Any advice on what is the best to use and where I can get them? I have found a lot on front disc conversions kits but...
OK, FINALLY got it worked out..... I had a bad power cable tot he starter. Never saw it before but there was power at the beginning and middle of the cable but not at the end.... how that happens I have no idea. Plus the fuel filter and fuel pump were bad. Once the fuel filter was changed the...
I had thought of that. It bolts in tight against the block with no gaps but I thought there was a certain clearence that was required for the starter to engage the flywheel. Again w/o a lift it is difficult for me to see a whole lot.
Unfortunately i don't have a lift and getting tot he studs on the starter is hard to do, especially since the mini9 starter moved them to the block side. How far away fromt he block should the large stud be?
I have the one below, 2 to solenoid, 2 to relay. Cable is in good shape. What would be wrong? Should I check and clean the battery post and positive cable end? Starter relay is new.
I am still chasing gremlins. Concerning my starting issue, I bought a new mini starter (Powermaster Powermax PLUS Starter) and have installed it but instead of the sound I had before (the typical dead battery clicking fast clicking) it sounds like it thuds once or twice. I bench tested it adn it...
OK, well it got to where it wouldn't even crank. Changed the ballast resistor, changed the battery finally went old school and banged on the starter......and it cranked. still have the starting issue but at least it cranks now. Going to get a starter. Any suggestions? I heard a 94-96 Durango...
OK, got a coil wire question. I was going to remove the coil and replace it with another one to see if that is an issue. Well my son tried helping and thought he would surprise me but removing the coil before I got home. Well I'm not a wire expert and he didn't think to check were the 3 wires...
Well I have been concentrating on just starting it. Even thought I had the battery checked I know sometimes when it is underload it will drop amperage so I just replaced the battery adn it started right up. Sp on tot he next isue. It still just cuts off. I started it adn after 2 minutes it cut...
I appreciate all the advice. I will try them. I'm used to my old classics leaking but this is almost ridiculous. Hopefully one of the suggestions will help. As for the starting issue, it does seem to me that it is out of fuel and has run back into the tank. All the fuel lines have been replaced...
My 68' Charger R/T has been giving me some gremlins that I am tired of. I have 2 issues with it that is making it very hard to enjoy.
1. My transmission has been leaking for a long time. I replaced the pan gasket 2x myself. I've spent well over $700 in 3 different shops trying to fix it. The...
Hi, that's what I am thinking..... just buy the Federal brackets and things will be ok. I can eventually rebuild the TRW with the smaller pulley down the road. I have been told there is a 6-8 week lead time right now to rebuild them so I don't want to wait that long.
2nd round.... I found that the bracket is different tfor the TRW and the Federal. The shop didn't realize that. They say the Federal bracket will lower it so it won't rub. Anybody with experience on this?
Thank you for letting me know about the offset. I guess I need to start from the beginning with the TRW that was in the car. What a pain. Now I have to go to battle with the shop. Do you know if the 4.75 inch pulley is correct?
